The Man Born Blind

A reading from the Gospel of Saint John 9, 1 – 12:

As Jesus passed by he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents; that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither he nor his parents sinned; it is so that the works of God might be made visible through him. We have to do the works of the one who sent me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” When he had said this, he spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva, and smeared the clay on his eyes, and said to him, “Go wash in the :Pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed, and came back able to see.
His neighbors and those who had seen him earlier as a beggar said, “Isn’t this the one who used to sit and beg?” Some said, “It is,” but others said, “No, he just looks like him.” He said, “I am.” So they said to him, “So, how were your eyes opened?” He replied, “The man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and told me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went there and washed and was able to see.” And they said to him, “Where is he?” He said, “I don’t know.”

A friend of mine with whom I went to school died on Saturday. His name is Melvin Arsenault. I will go to the wake this evening and pray for him. He lost his wife a few years ago. He died of cancer. I am praying that someone can send me money to pay my lawyer for I need the money at the end of this week. May the Lord bless you all.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“You know My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters that I am the greatest healer this world has ever seen. One day in Israel I healed a blind man. He was born blind and what he did was to sit outside the door of the temple begging for money to live. My disciples asked Me to tell them who had sinned, this man or his parents. I told them that neither one had sinned but this happened so that the people would be able to see the great healing I brought about. I did this in order to heal him: I spat on the ground and took the clay and smeared it on his eyes. Then I told him to go and wash in the pool of Siloam. He went and when he came back to Me, he could see very well. The people who knew this man who was healed asked him how his eyes were opened and he answered them that it was Jesus who healed him. They wanted to see Me but I was gone and the man who could see did not know where I was.
Even now, My brothers and sisters, I continue to heal people. There are some people who have been given a special gift of healing so when they pray to Me for healing of a sick person I answer that person and I heal the sick person. Go to see one who has this gift when you are sick and his prayers will bring a great healing to you. However, I heal only those people who believe in Me and follow Me. Walk with Me and you will receive many wonderful gifts. I love you all.”
