The Flight to Egypt

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 2, 13 – 19:

When the Magi had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.” Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled, “Out of Egypt I call my son.”

The Massacre of the Infants:
When Herod realized that he had been deceived by the magi, he became furious. He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had ascertained from the magi. Then was fulfilled what had been said through Jeremiah the prophet:
“A voice was heard in Ramah, sobbing and loud lamentation;
Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be consoled, since they were no more.”

My sister took sick with the flu on Christmas Eve and she was very sick on Christmas Day. She was vomiting and had great pain in her stomach and she could not eat. I prayed for her that the Lord would heal her and on December 26th, she was completely healed. I thank the Lord for healing my sister.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who love Me, Jesus, to continue your walk with Me. Know that I love you all and I am always there to help you.
When I was only a small baby in Bethlehem, King Herod was very angry that the Magi did not return to him and tell him where I was born. So he decided to kill Me by massacring all the boys around Bethlehem who was two years old and less. So he sent the army and they killed all these small children hoping that I would be among them. Of course I was not in Bethlehem when the army came for an angel had told My foster father Joseph that he should go with Me and My Mother and flee to Egypt. We left the same night and traveled to Egypt. We stayed there for seven years until King Herod was dead.
The Magi were very faithful men who came to adore Me and to give Me great gifts. However, Herod was of the devil. This is a premonition of what would happen to Me in years to come. The leaders of the Jews had Me arrested and they brought Me before their court and condemned Me to death by nailing Me to the cross. So I died for all of you to atone for your sins and to open Heaven for you all. I love you and I am always working for your salvation.”

P.S. I thank the Lord for another beautiful sunny day. There is not a cloud in the sky and it is not windy. The Lord is marvelous.
