The Conditions of Discipleship

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 16, 24 – 28:

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? Or what can one give in exchange for his life? For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father’s glory, and then he will repay everyone according to his conduct. Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

We had a lot of rain last night and again this forenoon. All the snow is gone even in the back of the house. There is only snow now in the woods. A lot of snow melted and there was plenty of water overflowing the ditches around here but around noon the sun came out and now there is only a little water flowing in the ditches. It was around 10 degrees Celsius this morning.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to take up your cross and follow Me. This is the way you can become My disciples. If you wish to save your life, you will surely lose it forever. Do not worry about losing your life and if you do lose it, you will find it in heaven. It will not help you if you gain a good part of the world and do not respect Me, you will surely lose your life forever. At the end of the world I will come with the angels to judge both the living and the dead. Those who followed Me in their life every day, will be judged to be saints and you will come to be with Me forever in heaven. Those who refused to follow Me but lived a life of sin, will be sent to hell where they will suffer in the fire for eternity. Come now My friends and make sure that you have changed your life and walk with Me every day from now on. I am there with My graces and My strength to help you attain your goal, eternal life in heaven forever. I love you all and I bless you.”
