Paradox of the Cross

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Paul’s Letter to the Corinthians (1:18-25):

The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the learning of the learned I will set aside.”
Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith. For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

We had a beautiful day yesterday although there was some wind. I finished the retreat yesterday at noon and we went around the western part of the Island visiting beautiful places.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“The sign of your salvation is the cross, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who accept Me as your Savior. The cross is very important for My Church. There is always a cross on top of every Catholic Church as a sign to each Christian, and you will find many crosses inside each church. It is on the cross that I offered My sacrifice to the Father to atone for your sins and to open heaven for you. Each Catholic should have a crucifix in his or her home and I would like that each Catholic home would have a cross in front of the house. This would be a sign to every person going by that people who believe in Me live in that house. Do not be afraid to have this cross in front of your house, for it will be a blessing to every person going by. You are all to love My cross as the symbol of My love for you. I bless you all.”
