Paul’s Plans

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans (15:22-33):

That is why I have so often been prevented from coming to you. But now, since I no longer have any opportunity in these regions and since I have desired to come to you for many years, I hope to see you in passing as I go to Spain and to be sent on my way there by you, after I have enjoyed being with you for a time. Now, however, I am going to Jerusalem to minister to the holy ones. For Macedonia and Achaia have decided to make some contribution for the poor among the holy ones in Jerusalem; they decided to do it, and in fact they are indebted to them, for if the Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to serve them in material blessings. So when I have completed this and safely handed over this contribution to them, I shall set out by way of you to Spain; and I know that in coming to you I shall come in the fullness of Christ’s blessing.
I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in the struggle by your prayers to God on my behalf, that I may be delivered from the disobedient in Judea, and that my ministry for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the holy ones, so that I may come to you with joy by the will of God and be refreshed together with you. The God of peace be with all of you. Amen.

We had a very hot day yesterday, but it clouded up in the evening and we got some rain. Today it is sunny and we should have a beautiful warm day again.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“On this day of My resurrection, I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who rejoice that I am risen from the dead. After three days in the tomb, I came back to life and it was on Sunday morning, which is now the Day of the Lord, that all Christians go to church.
“Saint Paul loved to travel and in this reading he is preparing to go to Rome to visit the Christians there. It is in Rome that he was martyred and he is buried there. He worked very well in spreading My Church in many parts of the world. He was not afraid to ask the Christians to pray for him. You too, My friends, you must pray for the missionaries in all the countries of the world who are doing what Saint Paul did. Pray that there may be many more missionaries to spread the Good News throughout the world. I bless you all.”
