The Flesh and the Spirit

A reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Romans 8, 1 – 13:

Hence, now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed you from the law of sin and death. For what the law, weakened by the flesh, was powerless to do, this God has done: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for the sake of sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteous decree of the law might be fulfilled in us, who live not according to the flesh but according to the spirit. For those who live according to the flesh are concerned with the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit with the things of the spirit. The concern of the flesh is death, but the concern of the spirit is life and peace. For the concern of the flesh is hostility toward God; it does not submit to the law of God, nor can it, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, on the contrary, you are in the spirit, if only the Spirit of God dwells in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness. If the spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you. Consequently, brothers and sisters, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

I know a man who is not a Christian but he is married and has children. However, this man has been found playing around with two women for many years. He had sex with them of and on. So this fellow would be a person of the flesh who wishes to satisfy the desires of the flesh but the law of God he ignores. A man who is married is to live with his wife until death and never have a relationship with any other woman, but this man did not follow what God teaches us. He is a person of death and not of life. We have to pray for such people that they come and follow the Lord who is of the spirit.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Be of the spirit My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are following Me. It is only in being of the spirit that you can follow Me. If you are of the flesh you will be taken by the things of the world and the desires of the flesh and you will not follow Me for any length of time. The flesh is hostile to Me for it does not want to follow My teachings. If you want to have life and peace here in the world, then you must be of the spirit and you must follow all what the spirit commands you. Those who are of the spirit want to have a close relationship with Me, their Savior. You want to be people of prayer and to go to church and receive Me regularly in Holy Communion. You also need to love your neighbor as yourself. In this way I will live in your heart and the Holy Spirit will live there too. You will receive the graces and strength to avoid evil and especially the evil coming from the flesh and you will always say ‘no’ to the evil one when he comes to you to tempt you. Remain in close relationship with Me and you will have life everlasting. I bless you all.”

Sin and Death

Sin and Death

A reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Romans 7, 13 – 25:

Did the good, then, become death for me? Of course not! Sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin, worked death in me through the good, so that sin might become sinful beyond measure through the commandment. We know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold into slavery to sin. What I do, I do not understand. For I do not do what I want, but I do what I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I concur that the law is good. So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh. The willing is ready at hand, but doing the good is not. For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. So, then, I discover the principle that when I want to do right, evil is at hand. For I take delight in the law of God, in my inner self, but I see in my members another principle at war with the law of my mind, taking me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Miserable one that I am! Who will deliver me from this moral body? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with my mind, serve the law of God but, with my flesh, the law of sin.

What is going on with the youth today? A young man I knew committed suicide after he was stopped driving his car by police and found under the influence of alcohol. He was told to go to court but instead he went out and hanged himself. A young woman who was on drugs did not want to live anymore. She just took an overdose of drugs and killed herself. This is going on everywhere today. What should we do? What the youth of our day need is Our Lord Jesus Christ. If they would offer themselves completely to the Lord and ask for His help, He would help them. The fact that they have lost faith and they do not pray is the reason why all these horrible things are taking place. Let us pray that they change completely.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you all to do good, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who live in every country of the world. It is a fact that all human beings have a tendency to evil. It is easier for them to do evil than to do good. Of course thoes you do evil commit sin and sin leads to death. You need My help, My dear friends, stop following the evil way and turn around and follow My way. I came into the world to take you away from the darkness of sin and to bring you into the day of holiness. In order to make this change around, you need My help. I am always ready to help you if you ask Me and you open your heart to Me. If you keep your heart shut how can I help you? There is no joy in groping around in the dark but if you follow Me you will find peace and joy and I will fill you with love too. Come wake up My dear brothers and sisters and take My hand and I will lead you to the Promised Land. I love you all.”

P.S. We had a beautiful sunny day on Sunday and it was mild.

Freedom from the Law

Freedom from the Law

A reading from Saint Paul’s letter to the Romans 7, 1 – 6:

Are you unaware brothers and sisters (for I am speaking to people who know the law) that the law has jurisdiction over one as long as one lives. Thus a married woman is bound by law to her living husband; but if her husband dies; she is released from the law in respect to her husband. Consequently, while her husband is alive she will be called an adulteress if she consorts with another man. But if her husband dies she is free from that law, and she is not an adulteress if she consorts with another man.
In the same way, my brothers and sisters, you also were put to death to the law through the body of Christ, so that you might belong to another, to the one who was raised from the dead in order that we might bear fruit for God. For when we were in the flesh, our sinful passions awakened by the law, worked in our members to bear fruit for death. But now we are released from the law, dead to what held us captive, so that we may serve in the newness of the spirit and not under the obsolete letter.

I am always very happy to pray with people who are sick. The Lord gave me this gift of healing to be used every day if possible. So people come to see me or others telephone me and explain to me their sickness and their pain. So if they are at the chapel, I make them sit before the image of Our Blessed Mother and I place my hands on their heads asking the Lord through the intercession of Our Dear Mother to heal the sick people. If it is by telephone I pray over the phone for the healing of the sick person. I must say that it is better for the person if he or she is with me where I am than just praying on the phone. However, people have been healed too by telephone.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I wish to tell you again My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are united to Me that because of your faith and baptism, you have been freed from the law known as the Mosaic Law. You can eat pork without any trouble. You do not have to be circumcised. You can eat with any person even those the Jews call sinners. You do not have to go to church on the Sabbath which is on Saturday but you go to church on Sunday because I rose from the dead on the first day of the week. All these Jewish laws do not apply to you Christians for I freed you from them. What you have to follow is this: Love God with all your heart and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. You are to forgive all those who have hurt you in any way as you recite in the “Our Father” every day. I call you to pray every day and to go to church on Sunday to take part in Holy Mass and to receive Me in Holy Communion. Pray for all those in need and for your needs too. I am always there to help you. Remember the ten Commandments of My Father have not been abolished. You are called to follow them with all your strength enlivened by the Holy Spirit.
My friends, follow the way I have shown you and you will be blessed by My Father and by Me. I love you all.”
