Sin and Death

Sin and Death

A reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Romans 7, 13 – 25:

Did the good, then, become death for me? Of course not! Sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin, worked death in me through the good, so that sin might become sinful beyond measure through the commandment. We know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold into slavery to sin. What I do, I do not understand. For I do not do what I want, but I do what I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I concur that the law is good. So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh. The willing is ready at hand, but doing the good is not. For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. So, then, I discover the principle that when I want to do right, evil is at hand. For I take delight in the law of God, in my inner self, but I see in my members another principle at war with the law of my mind, taking me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Miserable one that I am! Who will deliver me from this moral body? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with my mind, serve the law of God but, with my flesh, the law of sin.

What is going on with the youth today? A young man I knew committed suicide after he was stopped driving his car by police and found under the influence of alcohol. He was told to go to court but instead he went out and hanged himself. A young woman who was on drugs did not want to live anymore. She just took an overdose of drugs and killed herself. This is going on everywhere today. What should we do? What the youth of our day need is Our Lord Jesus Christ. If they would offer themselves completely to the Lord and ask for His help, He would help them. The fact that they have lost faith and they do not pray is the reason why all these horrible things are taking place. Let us pray that they change completely.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you all to do good, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who live in every country of the world. It is a fact that all human beings have a tendency to evil. It is easier for them to do evil than to do good. Of course thoes you do evil commit sin and sin leads to death. You need My help, My dear friends, stop following the evil way and turn around and follow My way. I came into the world to take you away from the darkness of sin and to bring you into the day of holiness. In order to make this change around, you need My help. I am always ready to help you if you ask Me and you open your heart to Me. If you keep your heart shut how can I help you? There is no joy in groping around in the dark but if you follow Me you will find peace and joy and I will fill you with love too. Come wake up My dear brothers and sisters and take My hand and I will lead you to the Promised Land. I love you all.”

P.S. We had a beautiful sunny day on Sunday and it was mild.
