The World’s Hatred

Dear Friends,

Please read Jesus’ words below from the Gospel of St. John 15:18-27.
“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but as it is they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me also hates my Father. If I had not done works among them that no one else ever did, they would not have sin; but as it is, they have seen and hated both me and my Father. But in order that the word written in their law might be fulfilled, ‘They hated me without cause.’ “When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.”

I was at the Manor yesterday afternoon and I celebrated Holy Mass with a big group of people and right after the Mass I visited those Catholics who could not come and gave them Holy Communion. They are always very happy to receive the Eucharist.

Below you will find the message Jesus gave me,

Melvin My brother, I love you and I love all My brothers and sisters living in every part of the world. I have a special love for all My friends who suffer at the hands of their fellow men. You hear almost every day of the death of a Bishop, a priest, a religious or a lay Catholic killed because of their faith in Me. I told the Apostles before I ascended into heaven that they would suffer. You know the way they treated Me, so many will be treated the same way and they will be martyred because of their faith in Me. There were many great martyrs at the beginning of the Church and there are still many today. Because of their supreme witness to the faith, these martyrs are all in heaven with Me filled with peace and joy.

My friends, do not fear those who can kill the body but cannot touch your soul. Offer your sufferings together with My suffering to the Father for the conversion of all the people of the world but especially for the conversion of the members of your family. If you are persecuted, rejoice because you are following in My footsteps. When I was on earth, many hated Me, lies were told against Me and at times, when I healed someone, I was told I was healing through the power of the devil.

Do not worry about what people think of you but instead be My disciples. Lift up your heart and mind to Me every day and love all your friends and neighbours. Be a witness of your faith and love in Me and a faithful member of My Church. When life is a struggle, remember I am even closer to you than before. I love you and bless you.

The Conditions of Discipleship

The Conditions of Discipleship

Dear Friends,

Below you will find the passage from the Gospel of St. Luke 9:23-27.
Then Jesus said to all, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself? Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”

I concelebrated Holy Mass yesterday morning with our parish priest at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road. After Mass, I went to the hall where they had prepared a great lunch. One only has to pay a small amount to have a full meal. Today, Monday, I will go to the Manor in Alberton to celebrate Holy Mass with the elderly people living there. I will also bring Holy Communion to those who are bedridden. About three quarters of the people living there are Catholics. I have some of my relatives there too.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus gave him this message.)

I bless you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters, who are My disciples. You have decided to follow Me according to My words in the Bible. The first thing you have to do is to take up your cross every day and follow Me. This means to accept all your sufferings and problems that you have and to offer them to Me. I will take them all and I will help you. Do not be centered on yourself but be centered on Me and you will please Me by doing what I ask you to do. Some people are ashamed of Me and so are afraid to speak about Me or to bring the people My word. If you act this way, then I will be ashamed of you. You know that one day I will return to earth to judge the living and the dead and if you have been ashamed of Me, how can you be saved? Stay united to Me and do not be afraid of what people say but pray for them. All those who follow Me will be with Me in heaven one day. I love you all.”

The Commissioning of the Eleven

The Commissioning of the Eleven

Dear Friends,

See below the passage to read taken from St. Mark’s Gospel 16:14-20.
Later, as the eleven were at table, Jesus appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who saw him after he had been raised. He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages. They will pick up serpents with their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them, was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God. But they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through accompanying signs.

I will be at our parish church this morning to concelebrate with the Parish Priest at the 11:00 a.m. Mass. We had some snow two days ago but not very much. We should have a mostly sunny week coming up.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus gave him this message.)

“I call you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in every country of the world, to be My witnesses where you live. Before My Ascension into heaven, I commissioned My Apostles to go throughout the world to proclaim the Good News to all the people. Today I give you all the same call. Do not be afraid to witness about Me to the people you meet. Do not hide the fact that you believe in Me, Your Savior, and that you follow Me. Through your efforts you will bring many to follow Me and you will be blessed. What is important is to truly live the life of a Christian, a follower of mine. Be a person who forgives those who hurt you and be always ready to help the poor, the sick and the elderly. Be humble and you will imitate Me. I love you with all My heart.
