The Rejection at Nazareth

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Luke’s Gospel (4:16-22, 28-30):

He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up, and went according to his custom into the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.”
Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him. He said to them, “Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” And all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth. They also asked, “Isn’t this the son of Joseph?” […]
When the people in the synagogue heard this, they were all filled with fury. They rose up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town had been built, to hurl him down headlong. But he passed through the midst of them and went away.

Our Lord wants to establish a lay movement for families, especially couples. He wants to gather families who bond themselves to Him and follow Him, not as religious but as lay Christians. This group will embody a total spirituality for families based on Jesus’ saying: Where two or more are gathered in my name, I am in their midst (Matt.18,20). The purpose of the Families for Jesus is to help couples live as committed Christians, steeped in the Spirit of Jesus and working to Christianize their homes, communities and workplaces.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
Be happy when people receive you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are committed to Me. You know I grew up in Nazareth and when I returned to My home town after I started My public life, I was not accepted by the people because they knew Me. They rejected Me and chased Me away from the town. However, I forgave them and never hated them. When you work for Me, you will be rejected at times by the people and they will mock you. Do not be afraid of them and do not hate them. Pray for these people that they come to believe in Me, their Savior, and love Me together with all those who follow Me. You are dear to Me, My friends, and I love you.

The Temptation of Jesus

The Temptation of Jesus

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Luke’s Gospel (4:1-13):

Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, to be tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were over he was hungry. The devil said to him, If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread. Jesus answered him, It is written, ‘One does not live by bread alone
. Then he took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a single instant. The devil said to him, I shall give to you all this power and their glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I may give it to whomever I wish. All this will be yours, if you worship me. Jesus said to him in reply, It is written: ‘You shall worship the Lord, your God, and him alone shall you serve.’

Then he led him to Jerusalem, made him stand on the parapet of the temple, and said to him, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,’ and ‘With their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ Jesus said to him in reply, It also says, ‘You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.’When the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from him for a time.

Again I wish to thank all those who send me a donation during the last weeks. You are my friends indeed and thank you for all your Christmas cards. Thank you too for all your prayers.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I call you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to always say to no to the devil and to always say yes to Me. It is a fact that there is a devil who did try already and he will try again to cause you to sin. He is very real and he is tricky. Be careful when you are tempted to do something, which you know is wrong but the devil makes you see the other side especially and you think it will bring you pleasure. Do not believe him for he is the great deceiver. You cannot win against the devil on your own because he is much more clever than you are. You need My help so remain close to Me to receive the graces you need to avoid sin. See how I dealt with the devil when he tempted Me. He never succeeded because I have all power and I am the Son of God. I love you all and I want you to be holy so I can live in your heart.”

The Baptism of Jesus

The Baptism of Jesus

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Matthew’s Gospel (3:13-17):

Then Jesus came from Galilee
to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. John tried to prevent him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and yet you are coming to me?” Jesus said to him in reply, “Allow it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him. After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

I must tell you what happened to me on Sunday afternoon. As I was praying Jesus began to speak to me asking me to start the Families for Jesus. This is an organization built around the Christian families. He wants them all close to Him and He calls the families to meet together about six to ten families in a home. All those who wish may meet once a week in different homes to pray. They are to pray the rosary together, read a passage of the New Testament and to share on the passage read. At the end they are to express their petition to the Lord for all their needs. Jesus gave me a prayer to pray every day:

Prayer for the Families for Jesus
Jesus, Our Lord and Our Savior, bless us the families who have responded to your call and now come to meet together regularly and we know that you are present with us.
Send the Holy Spirit upon us to enlighten us and to guide us. Give us the graces we need to follow your call and to pray for all our brothers and sisters that they will grow in their faith and be united with you.
May Our Heavenly Mother pray for us for peace and joy in our families and for good understanding among us.
We thank you Jesus, Our Great Friend, for listening to our prayer and to grant what we asked. Amen.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have committed their lives to Me. It was St. John the Baptist who baptized Me in the Jordan River and after My baptism the Holy Spirit came upon Me and My Heavenly Father spoke to Me saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.’ As you see My baptism was a great event with the three Persons of the Blessed Trinity present. The Baptism was My commitment to the Father to do all that He has asked Me to do. The Father was happy and the Holy Spirit strengthened Me in My human nature. I want each one of you to commit yourself to Me and you will be blessed. I love you all.”
