The Coming of the Spirit

The Coming of the Spirit

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 2, 1 – 13:

When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.
Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven staying in Jerusalem. At this sound, they gathered in a large crowd, but there were confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language. They were astounded, and in amazement they asked, “Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans? Then how does each of us hear them in his own native language? We are Parthians, Medes, and Elamites, inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya near Cyrene, as well as travelers from Rome, both Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs, yet we hear them speaking in our own tongues of the mighty acts of God.” They were all astounded and bewildered, and said to one another, “What does this mean?” But others said scoffing, “They had too much new wine.”

There are still a good number of people who put names in the Book of Remembrance. A few days ago a person sent me the names of 33 of her family to enter in the book and she sent a cheque of $500.00. That was a great help indeed. Others have sent ten and 15 names and I have been praying for all those in the book. I offer three Masses a week for all those in the book and I do this every week for a full year. All the time I receive calls or e-mail to let me know that those they entered in the book have changed, for example: one person sent the name of her brother who was about to divorce his wife. Now will all these Masses they have reconciled and they are living together in peace. The Lord works marvelously. It cost only $15.00 to enter a name for a whole year.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to believe in the Holy Spirit with all your heart. Ten days after My Ascension into heaven, the Holy Spirit who was sent by the Father and by Me and He descended upon the Apostles and all those present in the Upper Room and they were all filled in a very special way by the Holy Spirit and they spoke in different languages. This had never been seen before. I must emphasize that the coming of the Holy Spirit was one of the greatest event of the world. It is through the Holy Spirit that the Church began and it is through the Holy Spirit that we have saints today. He fills everyone with love and brings each one to holiness. He increases the faith of all and He gives all the drive they need to accomplish what I have asked them to do, especially to work for the conversion of all the people of the world.
All those who have been baptized have received the Holy Spirit and through the Sacrament of Confirmation you have received all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Did you put those gifts to work? Yes, you are to use the gift or gifts that the Holy Spirit has given you for the growth of My Church and for helping all those who are in need. Come walk with Me in the power of the Holy Spirit and you will enter heaven one day. I bless you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. We had a mostly cloudy day on Saturday. We had some rain in the morning but it was dry and calm in the evening. This was what the Lord gave us as the first day of Summer. May the Lord continue to give you His love, peace and joy every day.

The Choice of Judas’ Successor

The Choice of Judas’ Successor

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 1, 15 – 26:

During those days Peter stood up in the midst of the brothers (there was a group of about one hundred and twenty persons in the one place). He said, “My brothers, the scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand through the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who was the guide for those who arrested Jesus. He was numbered among us and was allotted a share in the ministry. He bought a parcel of land with the wages of his iniquity, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle, and all his insides spilled out. This became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem, so that the parcel of land was called in their language ‘Akeldama,’ that is, Field of Blood. For it is written in the Book of Psalms:
‘Let his encampment become desolate, and may no one dwell in it.’ and:
‘May another take his office.’
Therefore, it is necessary that one of the men who accompanied us the whole time the Lord Jesus came and went among us, beginning from the baptism of John until the day on which he was taken up from us, become with us a witness to his resurrection.” So they proposed two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also known as Justus, and Matthias. Then they prayed, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen to take the place in this apostolic ministry from which Judas turned away to go to his own place.” Then they gave lots to them, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was counted with the eleven apostles.

Once I went to New Brunswick, the Province next to mine, and I had a healing Mass in one village. There were many people. One woman was there whom her doctor had told her that she needed a heart transplant. She did not want that and so she came to the Healing Mass to ask Jesus to heal her heart. I prayed with her that her heart be healed. Some days afterwards she went to see her doctor and he sent her to the hospital for tests. The result came back saying that she had a new heart. Her doctor could not believe that as she never told him that she had received a heart transplant. When he called her and talked with her, he found out that it was Jesus who healed her. She never had a heart transplant.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who have a great love for My Son Jesus and you follow Him every day. When I was with the Apostles in the upper room awaiting the Feast of Pentecost, the Apostles got together to find a replacement for Judas Iscariot who had betrayed My Son Jesus, his Savior. It was Saint Peter who called them all to decide on a successor. They needed one who had been with Jesus from His Baptism by St. John the Baptist until His Ascension and of course Pentecost. At the end they decided to choose Matthias and he was numbered among the Apostles. With Matthias they were twelve once more.
We spent nine days in the upper room praying and waiting for the coming of the Holy Spirit. This group became the first Christian Community and it was in Jerusalem.
I call you all to be part of a community and to live as brothers and sisters and to pray together. I would be happy if you would pray the rosary together and go to Holy Mass as often as you could. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. We had a day of rain and sun on Friday. It especially rained hard for parts of the afternoon. We will have rain on Saturday but the sun should come out in the afternoon. Let us pray for all those who suffer.

The First Community in Jerusalem

The First Community in Jerusalem

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 1, 13 – 14:

When they entered the city they went to the upper room where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, together with some women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

One day my niece and her husband came to see me to ask me to pray for them. My niece had lupus and the doctors had told her that she will never have a child. So they asked me to pray that the Lord blesses them with a child. I prayed on both of them in the Little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island asking Our Lord through the intercession of Our Dear Mother to bless them with a child. After four or five months, my niece phoned me to let me know that she was pregnant. Her pregnancy came to term and she gave birth to a little boy. Now she has two children. I thank the Lord for the blessing you gave to this couple.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Come and follow Me My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters as we relive the great day of Pentecost. After My Ascension, the Apostles together with some women and My Mother went to the place where I had celebrated the Last Supper and instituted the Holy Eucharist. They were there for nine days spending the days in prayer to await what I had told them. As you can see this was the first novena and it was celebrated by My Apostles, some women and My Dear Mother. The doors of the building were locked so no one could come in for the Apostles feared the Jews. They were all awaiting the arrival of the Holy Spirit and it was a great day indeed. It is called Pentecost because the word means fifty days after My resurrection. Come and join the Apostles and the women and My Mother for this great feast. I will send the Holy Spirit on you all if you join with them.”

Father Melvin

P.S. We had some rain on Thursday morning but the sun came out around noon and we had a beautiful sunny afternoon. We will get some more rain on Friday. May the Lord bless you all.
