The Parable of the Great Feast

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 14, 15 – 24:

One of Jesus’ fellow guests said to him, “Blessed is the one who will dine in the Kingdom of God.” Jesus replied to him, “A man gave a great dinner in which he invited many. When the time for the dinner came, he dispatched his servant to say to those invited, ‘Come, everything is now ready.’ But one by one, they all began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, ‘I have purchased a field and must go to examine it; I ask you, consider me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have purchased five yoke of oxen and am on my way to evaluate them; I ask you, consider me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have just married a woman, and therefore I cannot come.’ The servant went and reported this to his master. Then the master of the house in a rage commanded his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in here the poor and the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ The servant reported, “Sir, your orders have been carried out and still there is room.’ The master then ordered the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedgerows and make people come in that my house may be filled. For I tell you, none of those men who were invited will taste my dinner.’

Today is my great day, the day of my birthday. The day started with a little snow but not much fell only about two or three mm. We were supposed to get between 5 and 10 mm. but just a bit fell. The sun came out in the afternoon and the snow melted a bit. There was again water on the road because some snow melted. I had a great day and many, many people phoned me to wish me a “Happy Birthday.” I thank all those who phoned me and those who prayed for me.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“You are all invited to a very great feast in heaven My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who follow Me. I spoke to the Apostles and to the people who followed Me about the great feast to which they are all called. When it was time for the feast, the master sent his servant to call all those who were invited. However, they refused to come and they gave excuses why they could not come. When the servant reported to the master, he was angry and asked him to go around and call every person he could find: the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame. Still the hall was not full. So the master sent him out further to call everybody. He went and now the hall was full but those who had been invited at the beginning were not present.
This feast that I spoke about is the Feast of Heaven. You are all called but many will not make it because they refused to follow Me and do what I was asking them to do. This shows first that the Jewish people did not enter the kingdom because they rejected Me and had Me killed. However, the Gentiles are invited and many have come to follow Me and these will be at the Great Banquet in heaven. Come follow Me and you will be blessed. I love you all.”
