The Transfiguration of Jesus
A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 9, 28 – 36:
About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James and went up the mountain to pray. While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white. And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem. Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but becoming fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” But he did not know what he was saying. While he was still speaking, a cloud came and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud. Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.” After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They fell silent and did not at that time tell anyone what they had seen.
Again I thank all those who have sent me money to help pay the lawyer at the court. Now I am in great stress. A great friend of mine, telephoned me to ask me to give him some money to pay for his medication as he does not have any more money at this time. I told him that I did not have any money either. Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I call you all My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to believe in Me as the Son of God, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. While I was on earth one day I took three Apostles with Me and we climbed a mountain to pray. While I was praying, I was completely transfigured. I was revealed as the God-Man. I showed these Apostles My divinity so that they come to believe that truly I am the Divine Son of God. The Transfiguration happened because the time of My Passion was near and I would be crucified on the cross and died. In order to help the Apostles not to lose their faith in Me, I showed them on the mountain that I was divine. During My Transfiguration, both Moses and Elijah appeared with Me. These are the two great leaders of the Jews. Moses led the Jewish people out of Egypt to the promise land. The Father gave him the ten commandments and he taught the Jewish people all that the Father had told them. It is there at Mount Sinai that they truly became the people of God. Elijah on the other hand was the greatest of the Jewish prophets. He prophesied much about Me as the Messiah who was to come into the world to save the people of the world. They appeared on the mountain and I was speaking to them about My suffering and death which was now near.
The three Apostles also heard the voice of Our Heavenly Father when He said, “This is My chosen Son; listen to him.” By this miracle on the mountain, you are all called to believe in Me as the Divine Son of God and to accept that I am your Lord and Savior who came among you to save you all. I love you all.”
