The Parable of the Sower

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 8, 4 – 8:
When a large crowd gathered, with people from one town after another journeying to him, Jesus spoke in a parable. “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path and was trampled, and the birds of the sky ate it up. Some seed fell on rocky ground, and when it grew, it withered for lack of moisture. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it. And some seed fell on good soil, and when it grew it produced fruit a hundredfold.” After saying this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear.”

Why are there so few young women entering the sisterhood? I remember when I was young, we had religious sisters in most of the parishes around where I live. Today there is not one convent left. There are only a few sisters left in the diocese and most of them are seniors. On the Island we had many high schools and religious sisters were in charge. I went to the Tignish High School and those in charge of this school were the religious sisters. Today there is not one school with sisters . I am praying that soon the Catholic Church will be able to open a Catholic school with sisters in charge. Please join me.

Below you will find the message of Our Dearest Mother Mary given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who follow My Son Jesus and who have a strong devotion to Me. I am your Mother who prays for you at all times that you may have strong faith and follow all that My Son has taught you.
My Son Jesus taught the people one day the parable of the sower. The sower is nobody else but Jesus, My Son. The seed is the Word of God and how are you receiving the Word of God today? The seed that falls on the path means this: some are like the path for the devil comes and takes away the Word of God before it can enter the heart. Some seed fall on rocky ground and this means that some receive the Word of God with joy but it does not last. As soon as the person faces trials, he or she forgets about the Word of God. Some seed fell among thorns and this means that the person received the Word of God but that person goes only after riches and pleasures of life and that chokes the Word of God. However, some seed fell on rich soil and produce great fruit. This means that the person hears the Word of God and receives it with a generous heart and with great faith and so this person will produce great fruit all the days of his or her life.
I am praying for you that you will open your heart completely to the Word of My Son Jesus and believe His teachings and so you will produce wonderful fruit and one day you will be with Me and My Son in heaven. I love you all.”
