The Visit of the Shepherds

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 2, 15 – 20:

When the angels went away from them to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “let us go, then, to Bethlehem to see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.” So they went in haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about the child. All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds. And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.

The weather here for the Feast of Christmas was mainly rain. It rained hard on Christmas Eve and in the morning there was not even a bit of snow left. It had all disappeared in the rain. On Christmas Day it rained again until the evening. After all that rain we should have sunshine between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Notwithstanding the rain, I was filled with joy on the great Feast and I thank the Lord for all the graces He gave me and I hope all of you also received great graces.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Come and join the shepherds and sing My dear brother Melvin and all My dear brothers and sisters who celebrated My Great Feast Day. An angel went to visit the shepherds in the fields and told them about My birth in Bethlehem. Then a big group of angels joined him and they sang in great joy on the Day I was born.
Afterwards they came to Bethlehem and found My parents and they saw Me lying in a manger. They told My parents about the angel and all that he had said. They were amazed at what the shepherds told them.
My dear friends, come in spirit to Bethlehem today and kneel before the manger and take Me in your arms. Be filled with great joy and peace for I have arrived the one who was foretold thousands of years ago. I come for each one of you to show you My love and to die for you for your salvation. Walk with Me every day by following what I have taught you. I want you near Me every day and you will receive the graces you need to follow the path I traced out for you. One day I will return to take you with Me to heaven. I bless you all.”
