The Rejection at Nazareth

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 13, 54 – 58:

Jesus came to his native place and taught the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said, “Where did this man get such wisdom and mighty deeds? Is he not the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother named Mary and his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Are not his sisters all with us? Where did this man get all this?” And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and in his own house.” And he did not work many mighty deeds there because of their lack of faith.

I wish to thank all those who have sent names to put in the Book of Remembrance. Some wrote from Colorado and from Oak Harbor, Washington and also from Ottawa, Newfoundland and other places. I wrote all the names they sent me in the Book and I am offering three Masses a week for a whole year for all of them.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words, “I call you to faith My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who live in the world. Do not be like the people of Nazareth where I grew up. When I returned to my native city and spoke to them in the synagogue, they refused to believe My words. I was rejected by My own people. I could not perform many healings because of the disbelieve of the people. Indeed a prophet is not without honor except in his native place and in his own house. Today I am accepted in the homes of many people in the world. They believe in Me and follow My teachings. I have also appointed some people as prophets and healers. These too are not accepted in their place of birth but many people in other towns and countries do accept them and there they can work many miracles in My name. When you see someone performing a great healing like giving the blind sight, healing cancer, healing a backache, getting a person who cannot walk to get up and walk and healing children. Then you know that this person is doing all these things by the power of God. It is I, Jesus, who is using that person to help those in need. So do not reject such a person but accept this person as a good follower of mine. It is I who is showing My love through this person who is healing. I bless you all.”
