The Sermon on the Mount

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 5, 1 – 11:

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemarkers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

I have something important to tell you all. On March 2nd, I will be 75 years old. I call you all to pray for me that my health will remain good for many years to come. I thank the Lord that I am arriving now at 75 years of age.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Come My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters and listen to my teaching as I teach you all the Beatitudes. I gave this teaching on a low hill in Israel and many people were present. The Beatitudes deal with various spiritual ways of living that will bring you all to My Kingdom. You are called to be poor in spirit, to be one who mourns, to be meek, to hunger and thirst for righteousness, to be merciful, to be clean of heart and to be a peacemaker. All those who have these attitudes will surely go to heaven one day.
Do not fear if you have to suffer and to be persecuted for doing what is right for I will be with you and you will surely be in My Kingdom. Do not fear these people but pray for them and forgive them for what they have done. You are to imitate Me every day and in this way I will give you all the joy, peace and love that you can receive. Be My dear brothers and sisters and you will be blessed. I love you all.”
