The Boy Jesus in the Temple

Dear Friends,
A reading from St.
Luke’s Gospel (2:41-52):
Each year his parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, and when he was twelve years old, they went up according to festival custom. After they had completed its days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it. Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances, but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him.
After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.” And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he said to them.
He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor before God and man.

Sometime ago I was asked to include a priest in the Book of Remembrance. He suffered from bone cancer. I entered his name and offered Holy Mass for all those written in the book including this priest. A few days ago I received a phone call to let me know that the priest was completely healed. After tests in the hospital the doctor declared a miracle as there were no trace of cancer any more. May the Lord be praised!

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who walk with Me every day. When I was twelve years old My parents and I went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover and when it was over I stayed in Jerusalem while My parents left to go home. After three days they found me in the temple with the teachers of the law. My mother did not understand that I should stay in the temple while they took the road to go home. I reminded her that I must be in My Father’s House. I said this to bring back to their minds that I am the Son of God and I must obey the Father in all things. I was now of age to begin to work out My mission given to Me by My Father. All of you must also bring to completion the mission given to you by Your Father in heaven. You all have special duties and special work to do and this is your mission on earth. My mission was to offer Myself in sacrifice for your salvation. You will know yours if you ask the Father to show it to you. It might take some time before you know it but do not give up. You will one day know your calling. I love you all.”
