The Wedding at Cana

Dear Friends,

Please read the passage below from the Gospel of St. John (2:1-12):

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servers, “Do whatever he tells you.” Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told them, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter.” So they took it. And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now.” Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him. After this, he and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples went down to Capernaum and stayed there only a few days.

I went fishing trout yesterday morning with a friend and together we caught nearly twenty trout; so I had a great trout meal last evening. It was very good. I hope to go fishing about once a week during the summer. It was nice and warm yesterday but we will have some rain today.

(Below you will find the message from Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. Our Lady spoke to him these words,)

“I bless you, My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters living in every country of the world. Have trust in Me, your Mother. If you pray to Me for something you truly need, I will ask My Son, Jesus, and He will give it to you. Remember what happened at the Wedding Feast at Cana in Galilee. The people came to Me during the Wedding Celebration to tell me that they had run out of wine. So I immediately went to My Son, Jesus, and told Him the problem the organizers had. Then I went to tell the servers to do what Jesus would tell them. Jesus went and told them to fill the jars with water and they did. Then He told one of them to take a glassful from one of those jars and bring it to the headwaiter. When he tasted it he found that it was the best wine so far. Jesus brought about this miracle at My request. He loves Me with all His heart and He can never say ‘no’ to His Mother. So you too come to Me and I will intercede for you. I love you all, My children, and I want you all close to My Son and to follow all that He has taught you. If you follow My Son, Jesus, you will surely be saved. On the day you will leave the earth, Jesus and I will be there to bring you to your heavenly home with us. You are all very dear to Jesus and to Me.”
