More on Judas’ Betrayal

Dear Friends,

Please read the passage below from the Gospel of St. Matthew (26:14-25):

One of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, What will you give me if I betray him to you? They paid him thirty pierces of silver. And from that moment he began to look for an opportunity to betray him. On the first day of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where do you want us to make the preparations for you to eat the Passover? He said, Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, My time is near; I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.’ So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the Passover meal. When it was evening, Jesus took his place with the twelve; and while they were eating, he said, Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me. And they became greatly distressed and began to say to him one after another, Surely not I, Lord? He answered, The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that one by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that one not to have been born. Judas, who betrayed him, said, Surely not I, Rabbi? Jesus replied, You have said so.

I will celebrate Holy Mass this morning in the Little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island at 9:30 a.m. Today is the day before the beginning of the Triduum, the three Holy Days to Easter. We are to prepare very well for these special days and spend much time with Jesus, Our Lord and Our Savior.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

I love you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in the world today, and I want a special relationship with you all. I want you all to come to know Me personally as your Friend who loves to spend time with you every day. How important it is to come to prayer every day.

How shocking it was for the other Apostles to learn that Judas had betrayed Me for some money. He agreed to lead the Jewish group to Me in the Garden of Gethsemane to arrest Me knowing that they wanted to kill Me. What makes it so terrible is that he was supposed to be My friend. He decided to follow the devil and to hand over His Savior to condemnation and death on the cross. However, I used My Passion and death as the means to bring salvation to all those who believe in Me. This was My great sacrifice, which I offered to My Father to pay the price for your sins. I willingly accepted to do this for each one of you. I love you all.

Father Melvin
