The Announcement of the Birth of Jesus to Mary

Dear Friends,

Please read the passage below from the Gospel of St. Luke (1:26-38):

In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” But Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?” And the angel said to her in reply, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God.” Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her.

Today is the Feast of the Annunciation to Mary of the birth of Jesus, the Son of God. The church here will celebrate this feast on Monday because it is the season of Lent. However, the date given by the Church for the Annunciation is March 25, nine months before Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem.

(Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words.)

“Rejoice, My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters spread all over the world, because today is the Feast of the Annunciation when the Angel Gabriel came to visit Me and told Me that I would become the Mother of Jesus, the Son of God and the Messiah, the Savior of the world. He greeted Me by telling Me these words, ‘Hail full of grace.’ I am indeed the Immaculate Conception and full of grace. I was chosen before I was born to be the Mother of the Son of God. Now with the Angel Gabriel I became aware that indeed I was chosen to give birth to the Messiah. After My question, he explained to Me how this would come about. I would conceive through the power of the Holy Spirit. After My question was answered I gave My ‘yes’, My fiat. At that time I conceived the child Jesus in My womb. Through a great miracle I was able to give birth to Jesus nine months later although I did not have any relations with a man.

I call you, My sons and daughters, to believe in this great event of the Annunciation by which the Savior of the world was able to come into the world as a human being. Indeed He has a Divine nature but He received His human nature from Me, His Mother. He came to suffer and to die on the cross for your salvation. He loves you all and I love you too.”
