Paul’s Arrest

Dear Friends,

Please read the passage below from the Acts of the Apostles (21: 27-36):

When the seven days were nearly completed, the Jews from the province of Asia noticed him (St. Paul) in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd, and laid hands on him, shouting, “Fellow Israelites, help us. This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place, and what is more, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and defiled this sacred place.” For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him and supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple. The whole city was in turmoil with people rushing together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the gates were closed. While they were trying to kill him, a report reached the cohort commander that all Jerusalem was rioting. He immediately took soldiers and centurions and charged down on them. When they saw the commander and the soldiers they stopped beating Paul. The cohort commander came forward, arrested him, and ordered him to be secured with two chains; he tried to find out who he might be and what he had done. Some in the mob shouted one thing, others something else; so, since he was unable to ascertain the truth because of the uproar, he ordered Paul to be brought into the compound. When he reached the steps, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the mob, for a crowd of people followed and shouted, “Away with him!”

I will leave tomorrow for Rogersville, N.B., to give a three-day retreat starting on Friday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m. I will finish on Sunday at noon. Everyone is welcome. There will be no message until I return.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“I bless you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters scattered throughout the world. So many who are My followers have to suffer. St. Paul, a great apostle, suffered much especially at the hands of the Jewish people. When he was in the temple in Jerusalem for the last time, people accused him of teaching against the Jewish religion and that he had allowed some Gentiles to enter the temple. So they attacked him, beat him and they wanted to kill him. He was saved by the commander and his soldiers who brought him to their compound. If the soldiers had not come, Paul would have been killed.

Today there are many who suffer because of their faith in Me. The persecution will soon start in North America, in Europe and in other continents too. However, do not be afraid. I am there to help you. I was there to help St. Paul when he was attacked. I will help you too. However, some will be martyred as it was in the past. Every year there are some of My followers who are killed, just like I was, without committing anything wrong. Remember, I love you and I am there to strengthen you and to give you My love, My peace and My joy.
