The Presentation in the Temple

Dear Friends,

When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord,” and to offer the sacrifice of “a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons,” in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord. Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah of the Lord. He came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, he took him into his arms and blessed God, saying: “Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.” The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted and you yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” (Passage from the Gospel of St. Luke 2:22-35)

We had some snow for Christmas and many people were happy. However tomorrow we will have rain and the snow should be all gone once more. I will have a Healing Mass next week on January 6, the First Friday of January. We will start with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. and the Holy Mass will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Healing Service. All are welcome.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words:)

“I bless you, My brother Melvin, and all My brothers and sisters living all over the world. Soon after I was born in Bethlehem, My parents took me to Jerusalem to the temple to present Me to the Father. This was a custom of the Jews and it comes from the time of Moses. What was special during this ceremony, were the words of Simeon. He recognized Me as the Savior of the world as soon as he saw Me. It gave him much joy and his words reveal the prophecy he received. Then he turned to My Mother Mary and told Her that a sword would pierce Her heart. This was fulfilled in Her as She stood at the foot of My cross.

Indeed I have come into the world as Your Savior. That was the main reason why I was born like every one of you although I am the Son of God. I am still working today for your salvation. Follow Me and indeed you will be blessed in this life and later you will be with Me forever in heaven.”
