The Report of the Guard
Dear Friends,
While they were going, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had happened. They assembled with the elders and took counsel; then they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him while we were asleep.’ And if this gets to the ears of the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” The soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has circulated among the Jews to the present day. (Passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew 28:11-15)
I celebrated Holy Mass yesterday morning in the Little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island and a nice little group showed up. In the evening I was at the prayer meeting at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, and a rather small group turned up.
Many people are writing to me or sending money via Money Gram to put their names and the names of their families in the Book of Remembrance. You know that two Holy Masses a week are celebrated for those inscribed in the book and these Masses will be offered for a full year. It only costs $15.00 to inscribe a person in the book for a full year. Rosaries are also prayed for those written in the book and there are many others prayers offered for them. Below you will find the message of Our Lord and God given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I love you, My brother Melvin, and all My brothers and sisters living in every country in the world. You believe that I rose from the dead after three days in the grave. The soldiers believed too as they saw Me coming out of the tomb. These Jewish soldiers were so afraid that they ran from the place and went to town or to their homes. Some told the high priest and his councilors all that had happened but they were urged to tell the peoples the lie that the Apostles had come to take the body away while they were sleeping. No, the fact is that I came back to life with all power and strength and I am the King of the world. I have all power to help you to get to heaven if you say ‘yes’ to Me. I bless you all.”
