Functions of these Gifts

Functions of these Gifts

A reading from Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians 14, 20 – 25:

Brothers and sisters, stop being childish in your thinking. In respect to evil be like infants, but in your thinking be mature. It is written in the law:
“By people, speaking strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners
I will speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to me, says the Lord.”
Thus, tongues are a sign not for those who believe but for unbelievers, whereas prophecy is not for unbelievers but for those who believe.
So if the whole church meets in one place and everyone speaks in tongues, and then uninstructed people or unbelievers should come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds? But if everyone is prophesying, and an unbeliever or uninstructed person should come in, he will be convinced by everyone and judged by everyone, and the secrets of his heart will be disclosed, and so he will fall down and worship God, declaring, “God is really in your midst.”

We never had so much rain in December as we had so far this month. If the rain had fallen as snow, we would have six or seven feet of snow. However, we had a bit of snow when the rain started and now all the snow is gone and today it was 8 degrees Celsius. We never had this before and with all the rain some culverts are gone from the road and even some bridges were taken away. So the Government is busy repairing all this damage. Tomorrow Saturday we will finally have some sun.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who love to pray every day. Saint Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians speaks about the spiritual gifts, which he would like every Christian to have. These gifts are especially the gift of tongues and the gift of prophecy. The gift of tongues is especially for those who believe in My Son Jesus. It is a way to praise the Heavenly Father and it is given to Christians by the Holy Spirit. The gift of prophecy is also given by the Holy Spirit and it helps people to grow in their faith. It can touch the hearts of the unbelievers especially when it reveals what is in the heart of the unbeliever. These are great gifts for the Church of My Son Jesus.
I pray continuously for you all that you may have strong faith to endure any suffering and to pray regularly. If you have the spiritual gifts, they will help you to pray with great fervor and to be always very close to Jesus, My Son, and to Me. I call you all to pray the rosary every day for it is a great prayer addressed to Me. I love you all and I bless you.”

Prophecy Greater than Tongues

Prophecy Greater than Tongues

A reading from Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians 14, 1 – 12:

Pursue love, but strive eagerly for the spiritual gifts, above all that you may prophecy. For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to human beings but to God, for no one listens; he utters mysteries in spirit. On the other hand, one who prophesies does speak to human beings, for their building up, encouragement, and solace. Whoever speaks in a tongue builds himself up, but whoever prophesies builds up the church. Now I should like all of you to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. One who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be build up. Now, brothers and sisters, if I should come to you speaking in tongues, what good will I do you if I do not speak to you by of revelation, or knowledge, or prophecy, or instruction? Likewise, if inanimate things that produce sound, such as flute or harp, do not give out the tones distinctly, how will what is being played on flute or harp be recognized? And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound, who will get ready for battle? Similarly, if you, because of speaking in tongues, do not utter intelligent speech, how will anyone know what is being said? For you will be talking to the air. It happens that there are many different languages in the world, and none is meaningless; but if I do not know the meaning of a language, I shall be a foreigner to one who speaks it, and one who speaks it a foreigner to me. So with yourselves; since you strive eagerly for spirits, seek to have an abundance of them for building up the church.

I am still searching for the last amount of money needed so that the money for the building of the shrine and the monasteries may arrive. I still have to pay $3,000 early next week in order to pay what is asked for. I hope I can finish all this within four or five days so I can receive the money. Please pray that this money comes right away and if you can help, I would be very thankful indeed. Thank you very much.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Many of you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who pray every day have received many gifts from Me. Some of you can speak in tongues just like the Apostles on the first Pentecost day. There is also another gift and this is the gift of prophecy. Saint Paul in the message of today speaks about these gifts. He would like that every Christian would speak and pray in tongues but the gift that is greater is the gift of prophecy. The gift of tongues is good but it builds up the one who speaks or prays in tongues. However, the gift of prophecy is more important because it is used to build up My Church. Prophecy is important because it speaks to people to build them up, to encourage them in their work as Christians and it brings peace and solitude to them.
Where do these gifts come from? These great gifts come from the Holy Spirit and He spread them around on the First Pentecost Day when all the Apostles were there with Our dear Mother. Pray to Me and ask Me for these gifts and I will give them to you. However, not all have the gift of prophecy but if you have the gift of tongues it will help you enormously. I love you and I thank you all.”

The Way of Love

The Way of Love

A reading from Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians 13, 1 – 13:

If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing. For we know partially and we prophecy partially, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I used to talk as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things. At present we see indistinctly as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known. So faith, hope, love, remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

We had a north-east storm on Wednesday and it will continue on Thursday tomorrow. It rained heavily and it was very windy. The wind was up to 90 km an hour. Because of the rain, there are floods everywhere. The water is crossing the road near my house and I saw the same thing in many places when I went out this afternoon. It will be windy tonight and we hope that the storm will end tomorrow afternoon.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I wish to remind you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters that the greatest gift you can have is the gift of love. Saint Paul wrote beautifully about love in the passage you will read today. Love is greater than prophecy, it is greater than all mysteries and knowledge and it is more important than faith. If you give away everything you have but you do not have love, this act is worth nothing.
A person who has the gift of love will be patient with his neighbors and friends and they will feel that love and the kindness of their friend. If you have the gift of love, then you will rejoice with the truth. Be assured that love never fails because love makes a person perfect. All the other things like prophecies, tongues, knowledge are partial but love is perfect and that is what you all need.
In order to have this great gift of love, you have to stop jealousy; you must not be inflated or rude; you must not seek your own interests and you must not be quick-tempered. You must not brood over injuries you received and you must not rejoice over wrongdoing. You are to bear all things, believe all things and hope in all good things and at the end you are to endure all things. I call you all to seek this gift from Me through prayer. I love you My dear friends.”
