The Birth of Jesus

The Birth of Jesus

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 2, 1 – 14:

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment when Quirinius was governor of Syria. So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you; you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

The Great Day of the birth of Jesus has arrived. I remembered when I was in Bethlehem I went to the place where Our Blessed Mother gave birth to Her Son Jesus. I knelt there and prayed at this holy place. The manger is still there but I do not know if it is the same one. It was right over this place that the star came down and shone bright over the place and the city. The angles too were there singing. That first Christmas was the great moment when God was born on earth as a human being. They could see God with their eyes and He was just a tiny baby and He had to be taken care of by His Mother and Saint Joseph. Our Savior arrived that day to show us His love and to establish His Kingdom on earth. We are all called to be part of His Kingdom.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Rejoice My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters for My great day has arrived. With the bright star of the Father and a multitude of angels, My Mother delivered Me in a stable in Bethlehem with the animals all around. She was with My Foster Father Joseph when She gave birth to Me. Yes, I was just a tiny baby like everyone human being at birth but My Heavenly Father recognized Me as His Son. I was wrapped in clothes and My Mother laid Me in a manger which was used to feed the animals. The people of Bethlehem could see the bright star and at the beginning they did not know what was going on. However, an angel went into the field were shepherds were taking care of the sheep and he told them that the Messiah, the Lord, had been born. Then he was united with the other angels and they sang a beautiful song which you should sing on My Birthday. The song is: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Indeed the shepherds went up to Bethlehem and to the stable and they saw the infant Jesus with His Mother and they worshipped Him. Many of the people of Bethlehem also came to the stable and worshipped Me as an infant. On that First Christmas, a new world began. Now I, the Son of God, am living with you My brothers and sisters. Although I ascended into heaven, yet I am still with you although you cannot see Me with your eyes. At times you can feel My presence in you and at times you can hear My words spoken in your heart. I love you all.”

P.S. The Lord calls us all to Holy Mass for His Great Feast of His Nativity.
I wish you all a Holy and Blessed Christmas.

The Birth of John

The Birth of John

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 1, 57 – 66:

When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her. When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child, they were going to call him Zechariah after his father, but his mother said in reply, “No. He will be called John.” But they answered her, “There is no one among your relatives who has this name.” So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called. He asked for a tablet and wrote, “John is his name,” and all were amazed. Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed, and he spoke blessing God. Then fear came upon all their neighbors, and all these matters were discussed throughout the hill country of Judea. All who heard these things took them to heart, saying, “What then, will this child be?” For surely the hand of the Lord was with him.

We are now at the door of the great Feast of Christmas. John the Baptist was born six months before Jesus and we know that Mary, Jesus’ Mother, was present at John’s birth. She left there soon after the child was born. Well I think most of you are all ready for the big feast. I am invited over to my sister’s home next door for a Christmas meal. There will be a great celebration tomorrow night in our church with the choir singing Christmas hymns before the Mass begins. Many people are expected at church for the night Mass but it seems we will have rain during the night.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Be full of joy My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are celebrating My Great Feast of Christmas this year. The great prophet, John the Baptist, was born six months before Me. My Mother while She was carrying Me in Her womb, went and spent three months with Her cousin to help her in her last months of pregnancy. Indeed it was a great day when John was born. Although Elizabeth was old, this was her first child and he came through an intervention by Our Heavenly Father. Zechariah had been told when the angel appeared to him in the Temple in Jerusalem that his wife would have a child in her old age and his name was to be John. So when he was circumcised, they gave him the name of John. At that moment Zechariah who had been mute for over nine months began to speak. He had a prophecy about his son John that he was to be the prophet of the Most High for he was to go before the Lord to prepare His ways. John was to call the people to repent of their sins and to be baptized with the baptism of repentance in order to prepare their hearts for My coming as your Lord and Savior. John in his manhood worked hard and he was the one who baptized Me in the Jordan River and then he pointed Me out to the people as the Messiah that was expected. John played a great role at the beginning of My public life. I thank him for all he did and he is now with Me in heaven. I bless you all.”

P.S. May the Lord bless you all on His great Feast of Christmas.

The Canticle of Mary

December 23, 2014

The Canticle of Mary

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 1, 46 – 56:

And Mary said,
“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.
The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.
He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.
He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly.
The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy,
according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”

Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home.

We are now very close to the Feast of Christmas. The Feast of the Birth of Jesus is a very important feast. For the first time the Son of God, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, becomes a human being. He took his humanity in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, selected by the Father from the beginning. Jesus came to live among us as one of us because He loves us and He showed us by His great suffering and death on the cross that He wants to redeem us all His brothers and sisters. So you my friends, I wish you a Holy and Precious Christmas, a Feast beyond any you have experience and I ask the Lord to give each one of you a precious spiritual gift that will remain with you for the rest of your life. I love you all.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“My Mother Mary sang a wonderful canticle after Her cousin Elizabeth spoke to Her the words divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. Her first words refer to God the Father who is the greatest in all the world. She rejoices in the fact that God is Her Savior. She presents Herself as the handmaid of the Lord; this means a lowly person who is full of humility. Because of Her lowliness, She predicts that all the people will call Her Blessed. That is why today the Church calls Her the Blessed Virgin Mary.
It is true that God the Father has done great things for Her especially by selecting Her to be My Mother. It is true that the Father is merciful to all those who love Him and follow Him. He does not like people who are haughty and full of pride. If rulers are like this, He will surely get rid of them but He will lift up the humble and the poor. He will feed the hungry but the rich with their pride will be driven away. It was the Father who selected the Israelites to be His people and He showed mercy to them and He has helped them many times. He selected Abraham to form this great Nation of the Jews and He helped them all through the years. You know that I, Jesus, was born a Jew and Our Blessed Mother was a Jewess too. Although at the end the majority of the Jews rejected Me, their Savior, yet I died for them all. Of course all the Apostles were Jews and many others followed Me while I was on earth but not the leaders of the Jews. They had Me crucified. However, I suffered My Passion for you all so that you could be members of the Kingdom of God. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. It was cloudy all day but there was no snow or rain. Tomorrow we should see the sun.
