Debates about the Sabbath

Debates about the Sabbath

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 6, 1 – 11:

While Jesus was going through a field of grain on a Sabbath, his disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating them. Some Pharisees said, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” Jesus said to them in reply, “Have you not read what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry? How he went into the house of God, took the bread of offering, which only the priests could lawfully eat, ate of it and shared it with his companions?” Then he said to them, “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”
On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man there whose right hand was withered. The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely to see if he would cure on the Sabbath so that they might discover a reason to accuse him. But he realized their intentions and said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up and stand before us.” And he rose and stood there. Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath rather than to do evil to save life rather than to destroy it?” Looking around at them all, he then said to him, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so and his hand was restored. But they became enraged and discussed together what they might do to Jesus.

Today Sunday, January 11th, is the last day of the Christmas season. The feast of today is very important. It is the Feast of the Baptism of Jesus by Saint John the Baptist in the Jordan River. As soon as He came out of the water, the Holy Trinity was present. Jesus of course is the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity as He is the Son of God. The Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Blessed Trinity came upon Jesus as soon as he came out of the water. Then the Heavenly Father, the First Person of the Blessed Trinity, spoke about Jesus saying, “You are My Son, the Beloved, with you I am well pleased.” So the Baptism of Jesus was very important because the Holy Trinity became present at that time. The Baptism of Jesus is important because it was His way to say “Yes” to His Father that He accepted to suffer and to die on the cross for our salvation as the Father had asked Him to do. He was very obedient to His Father and indeed the Father was well pleased.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“For the Jews the Sabbath was a holy day and they were told not to work on that day. You know My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters that today the holy day is Sunday the first day of the week because that was the day I rose from the dead and it was the day that the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles and also the day that the Church was born. The Apostles used to meet on Sunday to celebrate the Holy Eucharist and it was the day that the Christians came together.
However, before My coming, the day of going to the synagogue and praying was the seventh day of the week in accordance with the work of Our Heavenly Father when He created the whole world. He worked for six days and on the seventh He rested and all the Jewish people did the same. They rested from work and went to the synagogue on the seventh day. When I was on earth I did different things on the Sabbath such as curing the sick and the Apostles ate grain on that day as the story goes. The Pharisees of course condemned when the Apostles did and what I did. I told them that I was the Lord of the Sabbath and that is accepted to do good on the Sabbath such as to heal a person with a withered hand. However, they did not accept what I said and they would have liked to arrest Me but nothing happened on that day.
It is the same for you, My friends. You can help the sick and take care of them even on Sunday. You can help those in trouble, for example: if a person gets stuck in the snow with his car on Sunday, you can go and help this person. However, you should not continue to work doing the same thing you have done the whole week. You can take the Sunday off and go and take part in the Holy Mass in your church. For some jobs one has to work even on Sunday like a nurse in a hospital. For the majority of people however they will not work on Sunday and they will come to church for the Holy Eucharist. I bless you all.”

P.S. We had a beautiful sunny day on Sunday.

The Call of Levi

The Call of Levi

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 5, 27 – 39:

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the customs post. He said to him, “Follow me.” And leaving everything behind, he got up and followed him. Then Levi gave a great banquet for him in his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were at table with them. The Pharisees and their scribes complained to his disciples saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus said to them in reply, “Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners.”
And they said to him, “The disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and the disciples of the Pharisees do the same; but yours eat and drink.” Jesus answered them, “Can you make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days.” And he also told them a parable, “No one tears a piece from a new cloak to patch an old one. Otherwise, he will tear the new and the piece from it will not match the old cloak. Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skin will be ruined. Rather, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins. And no one who has been drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’ “

The money for the project of Our Blessed Mother and for the monasteries asked by Jesus has not arrived yet. The court is asking for another $2,500 to pay for the work done. I received $1,000 and what I need now is $1,500. I pray that some can send me the money so I can pay this so the money can arrive shortly. I need the money by Wednesday next week. You can send the money via Paypal which you can find if you go to Our Lady of PEI website. I thank all those who have sent me money during the last weeks. It was very helpful to pay the bills I had. May the Lord bless you all.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“You have all received a call from Me My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters and how I wish that you all accept the call and work to carry it out. As the biblical passage above shows, I called a tax collector named Levi to be My disciples and in time he was to become an Apostle. The Pharisees and scribes would never even think that I would call such a sinner for all tax collectors in their eyes are sinners. However, they do not know that I have come on earth to call sinners and through My Passion and death on the cross, I will take away all their sins. The Pharisees and scribes considered themselves non-sinners but they did not realized that they too were great sinners and needed repentance to take away their sins. The Pharisees complained to Me against the Apostles because they did not fast as did the disciples of John the Baptist and the disciples of the Pharisees. I told them that as long as the bridegroom is with them, they cannot fast. You must remember that I am the bridegroom. When I am taken away from them, then they will fast.
At the beginning of My public life, I went around and selected twelve men as My Apostles. I had selected them and their call was to begin My Church. They remained with Me for three years and after My death and resurrection, they received the Holy Spirit and on that day they began My Church. They did very well in giving birth to My Church. There is only one who did not follow Me and that one is Judas Iscariot. He sold Me for thirty pieces of silver. He left the table at the Last Supper and the next day he committed suicide. All the other Apostles are great saints who worked extremely well in the building up of My Church under the leadership of Saint Peter. Follow My Church and you will be blessed. I love you all.”

P.S. We had a beautiful sunny day but it was about minus 9 degrees Celsius.

The Healing of a Paralytic

January 10, 2015

The Healing of a Paralytic

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Luke 5, 17 – 26:

One day as Jesus was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there who had come from every village of Galilee an Judea and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was with him for healing. And some men brought on a stretcher a man who was paralyzed; they were trying to bring him in and set him in his presence. But not finding a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on the stretcher through the tiles into the middle in front of Jesus. When he saw their faith, he said, “As for you, your sins are forgiven.” Then the scribes and Pharisees began to ask themselves, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who but God alone can forgive sins?” Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them in reply, “What are you thinking in your hearts? Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? But that you know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”–he said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, rise, pick up you stretcher, and go home.” He stood up immediately before them, picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God. Then astonishment seized them all and they glorified God, and, struck with awe they said, “We have seen incredible things today.”

Some people are causing trouble to stop me from receiving the money for the cause of Our Blessed Mother and of Our Lord Jesus. They are trying to stop me from receiving that money. They are asking for more money. Please pray that the Lord will finally stop them from causing problems so that the money can come in as soon as possible so we can start working on the projects. I know He has all power and He can defeat the evil one who is the one really causing problems. I thank you all.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who believe in My Son Jesus and pray every day. My Son Jesus performed many miracles when He was on earth. Today we have another one and this miracle teaches everyone a great lesson. While My Son was teaching the Pharisees and scribes, men arrived with a paralyzed man on a stretcher. They wanted to bring him to Jesus that he would heal him. There were so many people in the house that they could not come in so they opened the roof and lowered him in from of My Son Jesus. When He saw this He was so struck by the faith of these people that He said, “As for you, your sins are forgiven.” Of course the Pharisees and others knew that only God can forgive sins and they thought that Jesus had blasphemed. They did not believe that He was the Son of God. However, to show them that He had the power to forgive sins, he healed the sick man by saying, “I say to you, rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home.” This man was immediately cured and got up and went home. By this great act, My Son Jesus showed all the people there that He has the power to forgive sins for indeed He is the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.

You are all called to believe that Jesus is divine although He has a human body. He has all power because He is the Son of God. He did many things while He was on earth to show that He was God: He walked on the water, He healed many people in His own name, He stopped the wind on the lake, He fed 5,000 people with a few loaves of bread and a few fish, He was transfigured on the mountain before three of His Apostles, He brought back to life the dead Lazarus and others too, and He chased evil spirits from people and He performed many other miracles. All this shows that He has all power and He did all this to show His love for each one of you and that you would believe that He is the Son of God. I love you all.”
