Denunciation of the Scribes and Pharisees (cont’d)

Dear Friends,

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, “… Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the memorials of the righteous, and you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have joined them in shedding the prophets’ blood.’ Thus you bear witness against yourselves that you are the children of those who murdered the prophets; now fill up what your ancestors measured out! You serpents, you brood of vipers, how can you flee from the judgment of Gehenna? Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and pursue from town to town, so that there may come upon you all the righteous blood shed upon earth, from the righteous blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. Amen, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how many times I yearned to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her young under her wings, but you were unwilling! Behold, your house will be abandoned, desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'” (Passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew 23:1-2a,29-39)

Next week on the First Friday, which is September 2, I will celebrate a Healing Mass in the Little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island at 7:30 p.m. and we will pray the rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday August 27, I will celebrate a Healing Mass at the Maury Farm just outside of Bouctouche, New Brunswick. I go there every year at the end of August. I hope to see many people from around the area.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I love you, My dear brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters scattered all over the world. Many of those who believe in Me and follow Me are being persecuted today in very many countries. This is like My time in Israel when the prophets and holy people were despised and many were murdered. Today society is very secular, which means that they have eliminated all belief in God. Many do not believe that God is real. Who do you think created the world and everything in it, if not God? Who created you as human beings, if it is not God? Do not be taken by the lies of the evil one but believe in Me, your Savior, who suffered and died on the cross to redeem you. Have you not seen the many miracles that go on even today among you? Many have been healed from all kinds of sickness such as cancer, damaged arms and shoulders, very sore backs, painful joints, and you, Melvin, I healed your eyes in 1977 after you had worn your glasses for about twenty years. Since then you can see very well. I have all power and it is My joy to heal those who believe in Me. Come, follow Me. I love you.”

Denunciation of the scribes and Pharisees (cont’)

Dear Friends,

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, “… Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity. But these you should have done, without neglecting the others. Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You cleanse the outside of cup and dish, but inside they are full of plunder and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup, so that the outside also may be clean.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of filth. Even so, on the outside you appear righteous, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.” (Passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew 23:1-2a,23-28)

I attended our parish picnic yesterday. We started with Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m. outside and many people attended. The main celebrant was the Parish Priest, Father Jacques Rigaud. After Mass nearly a thousand people went to the parish hall for a beautiful lobster dinner. I enjoyed it very much. After the meal there was a musical afternoon with many playing different instruments and others singing. There were people of all ages singing even as young as 12 years of age. Others danced to beautiful lively music. An elderly woman over 80 years of age came forward on the stage and danced. Everybody was very pleased because she danced so well. The day ended at 6:00 p.m. The weather was fantastic — only sunshine.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I wish to express great hope in you all as I greet you, My bother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in all the different countries of the world. I do not want you to be like the scribes and Pharisees but judge according to the Commandments of God; have mercy on all those who have hurt you in any way and be faithful to Me every day of your life.

What is important for Me is not the outside of a person but what is inside. You have to be a person of faith with great trust in Me. You must think good of others and do not tell all kinds of lies and do not slander anyone. There are so many people today who take part in gossip and in so doing commit great sins. Be people of prayer and pray for all those who are in need, especially the sick, those whose faith is weak, those who do not go to church and those who do not pray at home. I told you to love your neighbor and this is a great mark of a Christian. Love everyone and help those who suffer in any way; help those who have nothing to eat or have no place to stay. You know that I have identified Myself with every person who suffers. Be humble and you will be exalted by Me one day. I love you and bless you.”

“Woe to you, Scribes and Pharisees”

Dear Friends,

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, “… Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You lock the kingdom of heaven before human beings. You do not enter yourselves, nor do you allow entrance to those trying to enter. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You traverse sea and land to make one convert, and when that happens you make him a child of Gehenna twice as much as yourselves. Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘If one swears by the temple, it means nothing, but if one swears by the gold of the temple, one is obligated.’ Blind fools, which is greater, the gold, or the temple that made the gold sacred? And you say, ‘If one swears by the altar, it means nothing, but if one swears by the gift on the altar, one is obligated.’ You blind ones, which is greater, the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? One who swears by the altar swears by it and all that is upon it; one who swears by the temple swears by it and by him who dwells in it; one who swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by him who is seated on it.” (Passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew 23:1-2a,13-22)

I hope to be able to make many copies of the Our Lady of Prince Edward Island Newsletter this week and to send them out to all those who have subscribed to it. I send four Newsletters a year and the autumn one is now ready. It will be sent in both English and French. The cost to subscribe to the Newsletter is $12.00 for Canadians and $15.00 for those outside of Canada. Please make a cheque to Fr. Melvin Doucette for the amount.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Messiah given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“As I greet you, may you be filled by the Holy Spirit, My brother Melvin and all My friends scattered all over the world. I want you to be aware of the falsehood of the scribes and Pharisees during My time on earth. They continually worked against Me in many ways. They refused that the people enter the Kingdom of God, which I founded and called all those who believe in Me to enter. There are plenty of modern day scribes and Pharisees who oppose Me and stop people from entering My Church. Listen to Me who calls you into My Church and not to atheists, modernists or devil followers. I love you and I want you with Me.”
