The Need for Assistants

Dear Friends,

Please read the passage below from the Acts of the Apostles (6:1-7):

At that time, as the number of disciples continued to grow, the Hellenists complained against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. So the Twelve called together the community of the disciples and said, “It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to serve at table. Brothers, select from among you seven reputable men, filled with the Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task, whereas we shall devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” The proposal was acceptable to the whole community, so they chose Stephen, a man filled with faith and the Holy Spirit, also Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicholas of Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles who prayed and laid hands on them. The word of God continued to spread, and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly; even a large group of priests were becoming obedient to the faith.

I continue again today the report on the Pilgrimage to Europe. On April 24, 2012, we ate breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and at 9:15 a.m. I was at St. James’ Church to pray. I prayed my rosary and at 9:55 a.m. I entered the sacristy and got dressed for Holy Mass at 10:00 a.m. I helped again to distribute Holy Communion to the many people in the church. After Holy Mass I was chosen to be the main celebrant for the next day Mass at 10:00 a.m. in English. I then went to our hotel and lead 14 people of our group to visit the Castle in Medjugorje built by Patrick Latta from Vancouver, B.C. He now lives in Medjugorje. We did not see Patrick because he was sick but we saw his wife Nancy who gave us a talk and prepared a snack for us. After this visit we walked to the Cenacolo. This is a gift of the Holy Spirit to help those with addictions. There are 70 men living there and undergoing a great healing for they were drug addicts, alcoholics or had other addictions. The youngest is 15 years old and the oldest is 63 years old. Two young men witnessed about their life in the Cenacolo. One was from South Korea and the other was from the USA. There are now 60 Cenacolos in the world but Canada does not have one yet. I will continue with the report tomorrow.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“Be filled with the Holy Spirit, My brother Melvin, and all My brothers and sisters living all over the world. You know that the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and they were inspired during their life by the Holy Spirit. At one point they were inspired to begin the Diaconate, a special order in the Church to help people. The Diaconate still exists today. I desire that every diocese train men to become Deacons so they can work in the parishes. They are the ones who should be allowed to preach at times on Sundays, to read the Gospel, to distribute Holy Communion and to be leaders of various groups. These are sorely needed today.”

The First Community in Jerusalem

Dear Friends,

Please read the passage below from the Acts of the Apostles (1:13-14):

When they entered the city they went to the upper room where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, together with some women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

Let us continue the story of our pilgrimage. On April 23rd, we had breakfast at our residence and many of us went to listen to Vicka speak at her house. She is one of the seers who still sees Our Blessed Mother every day. There were many people on the street and most of them were Italians. It was difficult to hear her because of the noise. At 10:00 a.m. we were at St. James’ Church for Holy Mass. I concelebrated Holy Mass with 6 priests. I helped the priests to distribute Holy Communion to the people in the church, which was full. After Mass, we had a local guide who came to talk to us about what has been happening in Medjugorje.

At 1:00 p.m. we went to lunch and at 2:00 p.m. we left for Apparition Hill. I went to the Blue Cross and prayed at the spot of Our Lady’s apparitions. She spoke to me these words,

“Melvin, My son, I love you. You are back in Medjugorje where I have been appearing for almost 31 years. I still appear every day to three of the seers. When they receive their ten secrets, then I will stop appearing to them every day, but just once a year.

I have come to visit you many times too in Canada and particularly in Prince Edward Island. The main reason for My apparitions is to bring the people to pray. I want them to come to know My Son, Jesus, who is the Savior of all the people of the world. How can you believe and love My Son, Jesus, if you do not pray? It is impossible. That is why I call you all to pray. The greatest prayer in the whole world is Holy Mass. There is nothing more important in the world than Holy Mass. Call all the people to Mass every day or at least every Sunday. Melvin, Jesus is giving you an increase of the gifts He has given you. Place your trust in Him and do not worry. Soon you will begin the buildings that I asked you to build. I bless you.”

The Choice of Judas’s Successor

The Choice of Judas’s Successor

Dear Friends,

Please read the passage below from the Acts of the Apostles (1:15-26):

During those days Peter stood up in the midst of the brothers (there was a group of about one hundred and twenty persons in the one place). He said, “My brothers, the scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand through the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who was the guide for those who arrested Jesus. He was numbered among us and was allotted a share in this ministry. He bought a parcel of land with the wages of his iniquity, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle, and all his insides spilled out. This became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem, so that the parcel of land was called in their language ‘Akeldama,’ that is, Field of Blood. For it is written in the Book of Psalms: ‘Let his encampment become desolate, and may no one dwell in it.’ And: ‘May another take his office.’ Therefore, it is necessary that one of the men who accompanied us the whole time the Lord Jesus came and went among us, beginning from the baptism of John until the day on which he was taken up from us, become with us a witness to his resurrection.” So they proposed two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also known as Justus, and Matthias. Then they prayed, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen to take the place in this apostolic ministry from which Judas turned away to go to his own place.” Then they gave lots to them, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was counted with the eleven apostles.

The story of our pilgrimage continues. On the night of April 21st, we slept on the boat but I did not sleep much because of the noise of the engine. We arrived in Split, Croatia, at 7:10 a.m. and after breakfast we left by bus for Medjugorje. After some hours we crossed into Bosnia. Then we traveled until noon and went to a church in the country dedicated to Our Lady and at 12:30 p.m. I celebrated Holy Mass with the group. After Holy Mass we got on the bus and traveled to Medjugorje, which took us about half an hour from the church. We settled in and had lunch at 3:30 p.m. and then a group of us went to St. James Church to pray the rosary. We had supper at 7:30 p.m. and most went to bed afterwards. More tomorrow.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“I bless you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in every part of the earth. Some people follow Me for a while and then they turn their backs to Me like Judas. This causes a great pain in My heart. The Apostles before Pentecost came together to choose a replacement for Judas and they selected Matthias, a holy man blessed by Me. The leaders of the Church continuously choose replacements for the Pope, the Bishops and the priests in My Church. It is important that the right person be chosen. Pray, My friends, that all these appointments are the right ones and that they will be attentive to Me in the work I give them. May all of you follow your mission. I bless you all.”
