Paradox of the Cross

Paradox of the Cross

Dear Friends,

A Reading from St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (1:18-31):

The message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the learning of the learned I will set aside.” Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith. For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. Consider your own calling, brothers. Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. Rather, God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong, and God chose the lowly and despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something, so that no human being might boast before God. It is due to him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, as well as righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord.”

What a beautiful day we had yesterday. It was sunny for most of the day and it was warmer than the last previous days. We will have nice days for the rest of this week.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“I bless you with My wounded hands, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in all the countries of the world. I received the wounds in My hands and feet and in My side when I was being nailed to the cross. The wound on My side came from a lance from a soldier. The wounds on My head came from the crown of thorns and I also had a wound on My shoulder from carrying the cross. I am your crucified Jesus, Son of God, who died for all of you to redeem you from your sins and to bring you into My Church and into the Kingdom of God.

Many make fun of Me for letting Myself be killed in Jerusalem but they do not understand that I did this for them because I love them and I want them in heaven one day. Come, My dear friends, and pray for the conversion of all those who do not believe in Me. Do not listen to the ‘wisdom’ of the worldly people, for the wisdom of man is foolishness. Real wisdom comes from God and He gives it to all His followers. Offer yourselves completely to the Father to do all that He asks of you. I will give you all the graces you need to say ‘no’ to the world and ‘yes’ to the Father and to Me. I bless you all.”

Thanksgiving

Dear Friends,

A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians (1 Cor 1:4-17):

I give thanks to my God always on your account for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus, that in him you were enriched in every way, with all discourse and all knowledge, as the testimony to Christ was confirmed among you, so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you firm to the end, irreproachable on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, and by him you were called to fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. I urge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose. For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers, by Chloe’s people, that there are rivalries among you. I mean that each of you is saying, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Kephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I give thanks to God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one can say you were baptized in my name. I baptized the household of Stephanas also; beyond that I do not know whether I baptized anyone else. For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with the wisdom of human eloquence, so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its meaning.

Yesterday it rained for most of the day but it was not heavy. We should see the sun today, I hope. Continue to pray that what Our Lady asked may be accomplished very soon.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“I bless you and give thanks to the Father for you, My brother Melvin, and for all My brothers and sisters living in the world. Give thanks to your Father too for the faith you have in Me and for all that you do to follow the commandments of God and to love one another. Some of you though are causing division in My Church and in the Christian Community. Some say they are My followers yet they accept abortion, same-sex marriage, couples that live together and have not received the sacrament of marriage; so many divorces among them, and as many living with another, etc. All this causes great harm to My Church and it also destroys the faith of those who believed in Me. It is so important, My dear brothers and sisters, to follow the teachings I gave you and not to imitate those who follow the ways of the world. You need to pray every day and pray your rosary daily so that you have the strength and power to resist the evil one and to be close to Me. You know that abortion is a horrible sin because it is the killing of a human being conceived in his mother’s womb. All are to respect life from conception to natural death. Marriage is between a man and a woman, and it is for life. They are to give birth to children and to take care of them. I bless you all.”

Against Factions

Dear Friends,

A reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans (16:17-27):

I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who create dissensions and obstacles, in opposition to the teaching that you learned; avoid them. For such people do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites, and by fair and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the innocent. For while your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, I want you to be wise as to what is good, and simple as to what is evil; then the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Timothy, my co-worker, greets you; so do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my relatives. I, Tertius, the writer of this letter, greet you in the Lord. Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus greet you. Now to him who can strengthen you, according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret for long ages but now manifested through the prophetic writings and, according to the command of the eternal God, made known to all nations to bring about the obedience of faith, to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ be glory forever and ever. Amen.

I am almost finished writing the Newsletter of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island and soon I will start sending it out. I am somewhat late because I was sick with the flu but now I am much better. I hope my strength will come back soon. The weather since the beginning of June is rather cold. The temperature goes down to less than 10 degrees Celsius at night and not even reaching 15 degrees Celsius during the day. However, we should have a big change in a few days.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“As I greet you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in all the continents of the world, I call you all to be obedient to Me and to follow the true doctrine I taught the Apostles, and they have taught you what I have taught them. There are many today who teach all kinds of strange doctrines and if what they teach is different than what I taught, you can be sure that their teachings are false. The new phenomenon called New Age is completely false. They deny God and they think that human beings are gods. How wrong can you be! They perform reiki on people and they say the sick will be healed. This too is false for people can be healed but it lasts only two weeks and then they are worst than ever. There are all kinds of satanic cults and no Christian should ever get involved in this. There are different sects too such as the Church of Latter-Day Saints which is also false. No one should belong to such a sect.

My friends, remain in My Church and you will be close to Me and you will be blessed. I love you all, My brothers and sisters, and let us be friends all the days of your life.”
