Advice to the Married

Dear Friends,

A reading from St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (7:1-14):

Now in regard to the matters about which you wrote: “It is a good thing for a man not to touch a woman,” but because of cases of immorality every man should have his own wife, and every woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his duty toward his wife, and likewise the wife toward her husband. A wife does not have authority over her own body, but rather her husband, and similarly a husband does not have authority over his own body, but rather his wife. Do not deprive each other, except perhaps by mutual consent for a time, to be free for prayer, but then return to one another, so that Satan may not tempt you through your lack of self-control. This I say by way of concession, however, not as a command. Indeed, I wish everyone to be as I am, but each has a particular gift from God, one of one kind and one of another. Now to the unmarried and to widows, I say: it is a good thing for them to remain as they are, as I do, but if they cannot exercise self-control they should marry, for it is better to marry than to be on fire. To the married, however, I give this instruction (not I, but the Lord): a wife should not separate from her husband — and if she does separate she must either remain single or become reconciled to her husband — and a husband should not divorce his wife. To the rest I say (not the Lord): if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she is willing to go on living with him, he should not divorce her; and if any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he is willing to go on living with her, she should not divorce her husband. For the unbelieving husband is made holy through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy through the brother. Otherwise your children would be unclean, whereas in fact they are holy.

Last evening the sun came out and it was warm and hardly any wind. We should have a nice week.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“I want you all to strive for holiness, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in the world. I know that most of you are married or you will be married in the future. Married life is blessed by the Father and by Me. The Father created you man and woman so that you could live as husband and wife, and if possible have children and raise them up to come to know Me, to believe in Me and to follow Me. The terrible tragedy these days is to see all those married couples going for a divorce. You know when you pronounced your married vows, you promised to live together until death. This is a very important decision and it will cause your marriage to be stable. In order to preserve your marriage you need to pray every day, to forgive each other every day and to control yourself. Husband and wife are to love one another with all their heart. They are to learn from Me who loves them and who gave His life for their salvation. Accept each other as great friends who love to live together and to follow all that I have taught you. Bring up your children as Christians by having them baptized as babies, bring them to church regularly, and teach them the teachings of the church. I love you and bless you all.”

The Bread of Life

The Bread of Life

Dear Friends,

A reading from the Gospel of St. John (6:43a,45b-59):

Jesus answered and said to them, “. . . Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.” These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

Today is the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. It is the feast of the great gift that Jesus gave us, namely the Holy Eucharist, where He is present and alive once the priest has pronounced the consecration.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“I bless you, My priest brother Melvin, and all My brothers and sisters scattered all over the world. For today’s feast, I desire that all of you offer all the priests to Me and ask Me to bless them all. Without priests you would not be able to have the Eucharist. Pray then that My Church will have many holy priests who will work untiringly to bring the people to Me and put them on the way to their heavenly home. I gave you the Eucharist, this gift of Myself, to all those who believe in Me and follow Me. What is the Eucharist? It is the great sacrament in which I am truly present with My body and blood. Yes, I am alive in the Eucharist as I live now in heaven. Through the Eucharist you receive eternal life for I come to live in your heart and I will change you all into examples of Me. There is no greater gift I could give you than My very self in the Eucharist. You can come to receive Me every day if you so wish. Those who eat this bread will live forever in heaven. Believe that I am truly present under the species of bread and wine and receive the Eucharist with great devotion. I wish to transform you all into great saints and to receive you with joy in heaven one day. I love you all.”

The Crucifixion of Jesus

The Crucifixion of Jesus

Dear Friends,

A reading from the Gospel of St. John (19:16b-30):

So they took Jesus, and carrying the cross himself he went out to what is called the Place of the Skull, in Hebrew, Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, with Jesus in the middle. Pilate also had an inscription written and put on the cross. It read, “Jesus the Nazorean, the King of the Jews.” Now many of the Jews read this inscription, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that he said, ‘I am the King of the Jews.'” Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.” When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four shares, a share for each soldier. They also took his tunic, but the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from the top down. So they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it will be,” in order that the passage of scripture might be fulfilled that says: “They divided my garments among them, and for my vesture they cast lots.” This is what the soldiers did. Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.” There was a vessel filled with common wine. So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

(Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. Our Lady spoke to him these words.)

“I love you, My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters spread all over the world. While Jesus was on the cross, just before He died He gave Me to you all to be your Mother. Indeed you have a Mother in heaven who cares for you and who prays for you every day. This happened after I had suffered atrociously at the foot of My Son’s cross. I saw Him suffering terribly and bleeding from every part of His body. They had flogged Him and placed a crown of thorns on His head, and at Golgotha He was nailed to the cross with nails going through His hands and feet. Blood was pouring from all these great wounds. My children, Jesus suffered this horrible death for you. He offered Himself in sacrifice to His Father in heaven for your salvation. I was united to Him in His suffering and in fact I went through a martyrdom seeing Him in such terrible pain. You see now how evil sin is that it caused the Son of God such suffering. I call on you all to avoid sin at all cost and to follow Your Savior every day. Open your hearts to receive all the gifts and graces He won for you on the cross. I love you and I pray for you every day.”
