One Body, Many Parts

One Body, Many Parts

Dear Friends,

A reading from St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (12:12-28):

As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit. Now the body is not a single part, but many. If a foot should say, “Because I am not a hand I do not belong to the body,” it does not for this reason belong any less to the body. Or if an ear should say, “Because I am not an eye I do not belong to the body,” it does not for this reason belong any less to the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? But as it is, God placed the parts, each one of them, in the body as he intended. If they were all one part, where would the body be? But as it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I do not need you.” Indeed, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are all the more necessary, and those parts of the body that we consider less honorable we surround with greater honor, and our less presentable parts are treated with greater propriety, whereas our more presentable parts do not need this. But God has so constructed the body as to give greater honor to a part that is without it, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the parts may have the same concern for one another. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part is honored, all the parts share its joy. Now you are Christ’s body, and individually parts of it. Some people God has designated in the church to be, first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; then, mighty deeds; then, gifts of healing, assistance, administration, and varieties of tongues.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“You are blessed, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters, who have received the gift of the Holy Spirit. You first received the Holy Spirit at Baptism and then the gifts of the Holy Spirit when you received the Sacrament of Confirmation. I want you all to make use of all these gifts, which you have received. St. Paul enumerates them for you. Each one of you has been given one or more of these gifts of the Holy Spirit and it is by trying them out that you can see if you have them or not. What is also important is that you remain attached to Me, your Savior, by praying regularly and by going to Holy Mass and receiving Me in Holy Communion often. In this way your gifts will grow but never forget that these gifts were given to you by the Holy Spirit. So do not forget to thank Him for all that He has given you. You must not forget that you belong to My Church and you are to use these gifts according to the rules of the Church. You are not for example to get up during Holy Mass and start speaking in tongues or start coming out with prophecy. There are times to do this. To know if you have the gift of healing you have to pray over the sick and if they are healed then you know you have the gift. I bless you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. Please pray often for me today.

Unity and Variety

Unity and Variety

Dear Friends,

A reading from St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (12:1-13):

Now in regard to spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be unaware. You know how, when you were pagans, you were constantly attracted and led away to mute idols. Therefore, I tell you that nobody speaking by the spirit of God says, “Jesus be accursed.” And no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit. To one is given through the Spirit the expression of wisdom; to another the expression of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit; to another mighty deeds; to another prophecy; to another discernment of spirits; to another varieties of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing them individually to each person as he wishes. As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.

We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday, Sunday, and we will have many sunny days in the week to come. I thank the Lord for the beautiful weather that He is giving us every day.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

“I have often sent the Holy Spirit upon you, My brother Melvin, and upon all My brothers and sisters living in every corner of the world. You know that the Father and I sent the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles on Pentecost and on that day the Church was born for about 3,000 people were baptized by the Apostles. The Holy Spirit is working all over the world especially in the hearts of those who believe in Me and follow Me. He also gives many, many gifts to those who believe. St. Paul listed a number of these gifts that you can receive. Some of these gifts are: speaking with wisdom, expression of knowledge, the gift of great faith, the gift of healing, the gift of prophecy, the gift of discernment of spirits, the gift of tongues and the interpretation of tongues.

All these gifts come from the one and only Holy Spirit. These gifts are given to people to help the members of the community to grow in faith and good works. Ask for the Holy Spirit to give you all the gifts you need and open your heart to receive them. These gifts are particularly at work in the Charismatic Movement today. You know, My brother Melvin, that I have given you the gift of speaking in tongues, of prophecy, of healing the sick, and you are filled all the time with My love, peace and joy. I want you all to grow as Christians and to practice the gifts that the Spirit has given you. I bless you all.”

Warning against Idolatry

Warning against Idolatry

Dear Friends,

A reading from St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (10:14-33):

Therefore, my beloved, avoid idolatry. I am speaking as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I am saying. The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf. Look at Israel according to the flesh; are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar? So what am I saying? That meat sacrificed to idols is anything? Or that an idol is anything? No, I mean that what they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to become participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons. Or are we provoking the Lord to jealous anger? Are we stronger than he? “Everything is lawful,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is lawful,” but not everything builds up. No one should seek his own advantage, but that of his neighbor. Eat anything sold in the market, without raising questions on grounds of conscience, for “the earth and its fullness are the Lord’s.” If an unbeliever invites you and you want to go, eat whatever is placed before you, without raising questions on grounds of conscience. But if someone says to you, “This was offered in sacrifice,” do not eat it on account of the one who called attention to it and on account of conscience; I mean not your own conscience, but the other’s. For why should my freedom be determined by someone else’s conscience? If I partake thankfully, why am I reviled for that over which I give thanks? So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God. Avoid giving offense, whether to Jews or Greeks or the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in every way, not seeking my own benefit but that of the many, that they may be saved.

Yesterday was the Feast of the Sacred Heart and today it is the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Our Blessed Mother.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lady given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words.)

“I bless you, My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters spread throughout the countries of the world. Give praise and thanksgiving to the Father for all that He is doing for all of you. Yesterday was the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, My Son. What perfect love He showed to all of you by sacrificing Himself on the cross for you all so that you could be free from sin and become the beloved of God. I call you all to follow Him and Him alone. Many people today are worshiping idols and this is a great offense against God. Modern idols are money, New Age, satanic cults, freedom from everything even from following your Lord and Savior, and immorality. My dear children, I am calling you back to My Son, Jesus. He is your Redeemer who died for you and He will save you if you follow Him. Come leave the darkness behind and come into the light for My Son is the light. He alone can give meaning to your life in this world. Have great hope that when you leave this life, you will enter everlasting happiness in heaven. I love you all, My dear children, and I want you all with Me.”
