Prayer in Times of Distress

Dear Friends,

A reading from Psalm 86:

Incline your ear, O Lord; answer me, for I am afflicted and poor. Keep my life, for I am devoted to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God; have pity on me, O Lord, for to you I call all the day. Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord I lift up my soul; for you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in kindness to all who call upon you. Hearken, O Lord, to my prayer and attend to the sound of my pleading. In the day of my distress I call upon you, for you will answer me.

There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, and there are no works like yours. All the nations you have made shall come and worship you, O Lord, and glorify your name. For you are great, and you do wondrous deeds; you alone are God.

Teach me, O Lord, your way that I may walk in your truth; direct my heart that it may fear your name. I will give thanks to you, O Lord My God, with all my heart, and I will glorify your name forever. Great has been your kindness toward me; you have rescued me from the depths of the nether world. O God, the haughty have risen up against me, and the company of fierce men seeks my life, nor do they set you before their eyes. But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in kindness and fidelity. Turn toward me, and have pity on me; give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your handmaid. Grant me a proof of your favor, that my enemies may see, to their confusion, that you, O Lord, have helped and comforted me.

We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and the temperature reached 28 degrees Celsius.

(Below you will find the message of Our Heavenly Father given to Father Melvin. God the Father spoke to him these words.)

I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters living in the world. As Psalm 86 tells you, there are many of you who are suffering. When I created the earth, I wanted all of you to live in peace and joy without any sickness or suffering, but it is sin that changed everything. When sin entered the world, then death entered at the same time and with death all kinds of sicknesses and pain. You know that I placed the first man and the first woman in paradise where they did not have to labor to find something to eat and they were always in good health. It was the sin they committed against Me that changed everything. After that sin I promised you a Savior who would restore you to My favor by His suffering and death on the cross to atone for your sins. My Son Jesus is the one who came and did everything I asked Him to do. Now I call you all to believe in Him, Your Savior and Redeemer, and to follow His teachings and you will be blessed in the world and when your time comes I will accept you in heaven. Read the psalm 86 often for it is a great prayer directed to Me and if you do so I will answer your prayer with great love. I love you all My children.”

Accusation of Weakness

Accusation of Weakness

Dear Friends,

A reading from St. Paul’s second Letter to the Corinthians (2 Cor 10:1-11):

Now I myself, Paul, urge you through the gentleness and clemency of Christ, I who am humble when face to face with you, but brave toward you when absent, I beg you that, when present, I may not have to be brave with that confidence with which I intend to act boldly against some who consider us as acting according to the flesh. For, although we are in the flesh, we do not battle according to the flesh, for the weapons of our battle are not of flesh but are enormously powerful, capable of destroying fortresses. We destroy arguments and every pretension raising itself against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive in obedience to Christ, and we are ready to punish every disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

Look at what confronts you. Whoever is confident of belonging to Christ should consider that as he belongs to Christ, so do we. And even if I should boast a little too much of our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for tearing you down, I shall not be put to shame. May I not seem as one frightening you through letters. For someone will say, His letters are severe and forceful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible. Such a person must understand that what we are in word through letters when absent, that we also are in action when present.

I had a good number of visitors yesterday to the Little Shrine of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. They came to ask for prayers and to pray too. I prayed to Jesus through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother for their needs.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in every country of the world. Come and open your heart to Me that I may give you all the gifts and graces that you need. Sometimes when people refuse to do what I ask them I have to be severe with them. Because of their rejection of Me, their Savior, they could be struck with sickness, with depression, with insult from others, etc. If you were with Me at those times, I would be there to help you and strengthen you but if you reject Me then you are all alone and it can be very bleak for you. No, My friends, accept Me as your helper and friend who wants to be close to you. Every person is faced with problems and difficulties and it is not easy to deal with these on your own. Do not disobey Me but be ready to do all that I ask of you. You will be rewarded and you will be free with joy and peace. Come and pray and I will live in your heart every day. My great desire is that one day you will be at home with Me in heaven and there you will be in eternal happiness and never face any more suffering. I bless you all.”

The Scourging of Jesus

The Scourging of Jesus

Dear Friends,

A reading from the Gospel of St. John (19:1-16):

Then Pilate took Jesus and had him scourged. And the soldiers wove a crown out of thorns and placed it on his head, and clothed him in a purple cloak, and they came to him and said, Hail, King of the Jews! And they struck him repeatedly. Once more Pilate went out and said to them, Look, I am bringing him out to you, so that you may know that I find no guilt in him. So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple cloak. And he said to them, Behold, the man! When the chief priests and the guards saw him they cried out, Crucify him, crucify him! Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and crucify him. I find no guilt in him. The Jews answered, We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. Now when Pilate heard this statement, he became even more afraid, and went back into the praetorium and said to Jesus, Where are you from? Jesus did not answer him. So Pilate said to him, Do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have power to release you and I have power to crucify you? Jesus answered him,You would have no power over me if it had not been given to you from above. For this reason the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.Consequently, Pilate tried to release him, but the Jews cried out, If you release him, you are not a Friend of Caesar. Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar. Then he handed him over to them to be crucified

I went to see the doctor yesterday afternoon and he told me that I did not have a virus as I was told. I have a stone in my gall bladder. I will have to go and see a specialist on July 27 and he will tell me what he will do. Please pray that this stone goes away.

(Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words.)

I love you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters for whom I suffered My Passion and died on the cross. After My arrest the Jews brought Me to Pontus Pilate and they asked him to crucify Me. At first Pilate had Me scourged with whips. I was bleeding all over My body and it was painful. After that they prepared a crown for My head made of thorns. They forced it on My head and the thorns entered into My head and blood came out. It was after all this that Pilate took Me out and he said, ‘Behold the man.’ But the Jews shouted, Crucify Him, Crucify Him. After that Pilate handed Me over to the Jews to be crucified.

I call you all My brothers and sisters and especially on Fridays spend time with Me at the foot of My cross. I suffered horribly and I gave My life for your salvation. Never forget that I love you and I want you with Me at all times. Pray for those who do not believe in Me that they may open their hearts to receive the gift of faith I have for them. I send many graces to you every day. I bless you all.”
