Announcement of the Birth of Jesus

Dear Friends,

A reading from St. Luke’s Gospel (1:26-38):

In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man nmed Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

But Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?” And the angel said to her in reply, “The holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God.” Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her.

Today is the Great Feast of the Assumption of Our Blessed Mother into heaven. She never committed a sin so Her Body could not go down into the tomb. She went to heaven body and soul and became Our Queen Mother.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words:

Be filled with joy My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters on this great day of My Assumption into heaven. I thank Our Heavenly Father that He has preserved Me from original sin and He gave Me all the graces I needed to avoid sin during the whole of My life on earth. Death and burial are the punishment for those who were born with original sin and have sinned during their life on earth. Their resurrection will be only at the end of the world. The Angel Gabriel greeted Me with these words, ‘Hail full of grace! The Lord is with you. This means that the Father had given Me all the graces I needed to follow Him. That is why I did not sin during My life on earth. The angels carried Me to heaven and when I arrived in glory I was crowned by the Father the Queen of heaven and earth. I am Your Queen but I am also your Mother. I love you all.”

The Ideal Christian Life in the World

Dear Friends,

A reading from St. Paul’s Letter to the Colossians 3, 1 – 17):

If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Think of what is above, not of what is on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.

Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly; immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry. Because of these the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient. By these you too once conducted yourselves, when you lived in that way. But now you must put them all away: anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths. Stop lying to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free, but Christ is all in all.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do. And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection. And let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

—————————————

I invite you again to come to Our Lady of Prince Edward Island’s chapel on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. This day is Our Lady’s Feast of the Assumption.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Redeemer given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words:

I call you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to do everything in My name. You are Christians because I am in you and you are in Me. Everyone of My followers are to show by their words and actions that they belong to Me, their Lord and Savior. You all have to avoid sin with the help of My grace and instead you are to control yourselves and be filled with compassion, humility, kindness and above all love. You know that I love you so you too are to love Me and to love all your neighbors and to forgive all those who have harmed you in any way. Renounce all vices and watch your tongue. So many sins are committed with the tongue. You are to use your tongue to pray and to speak well of Me and to express your love for all those you meet. Husband and wives are to love each other and to pardon the other if your partner has hurt you. Children too are to love their parents and obey them. I love you all.”

Columbine Father – 12 years later!!

Dear Friends,

This is an inspired talk given in Washington, DC, by Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel, his daughter, who was shot and killed at school. If the governments would only follow what this man said.

Father Melvin

—————————————

Guess our national leaders didn’t expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness… The following is a portion of the transcript:

“Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.”

“The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used… Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain’s heart.”

“In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA – because I don’t believe that they are responsible for my daughter’s death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel’s murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy — it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.”

“Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You’ve stripped away our heritage,
You’ve outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question “Why?”
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!”

“Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc.

Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation’s history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence.

And when something as terrible as Columbine’s tragedy occurs — politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws.

Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.”

“As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools.

Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him.

To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA — I give to you a sincere challenge… Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter’s death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!”

Darrell Scott

Instead of a message from the Lord I thought that this message from Darrell Scott was very interesting. I hope you read it and are pleased with the content and I wish you would pass it to everybody you know.
God bless you.
