The Visit of the Magi

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Matthew’s Gospel (2:1-12):
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage.”
When King Herod heard this, he was greatly troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Assembling all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it has been written through the prophet: ‘And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; since from you shall come a ruler, who is to shepherd my people Israel.'”
Then Herod called the magi secretly and ascertained from them the time of the star’s appearance. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search diligently for the child. When you have found him, bring me word, that I too may go and do him homage.”
After their audience with the king they set out. And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising preceded them, until it came and stopped over the place where the child was. They were overjoyed at seeing the star, and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their country by another way.

We had a beautiful sunny day for Christmas and just a little snow here and there. The roads were cleared. I ate a beautiful Christmas meal at dear friends of mine. I enjoyed it very much.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Messiah given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Sing with joy My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who celebrated the anniversary My birth yesterday. My heavenly Father showed the Magi the star to let them know that the king of the Jews was born. So they left their home in the East and journeyed to Jerusalem and to Bethlehem. They found Me and My mother and they knelt and paid homage to Me. The importance of the Magi is this:
I was sent by My Father for the salvation of not only the Jewish people but for the salvation of all the people of the world. The Magi were not Jews but of another race. It does not matter what country you come from, I came for your salvation as well. So come believe in your Savior and follow Me and you too will be saved. I love you all whether you are from the north or the south, the west or the east.”

The Birth of Jesus

Dear Friends,
A reading from
 St. Luke’s Gospel (2:1-14):
In those days a decree went out
from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria. So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a Savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying,
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.

I wish you a holy and peaceful Feast of Christmas on this great day. May the Lord bless each one of you and fill you with very special graces.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Be filled with joy today on My great Feast of Christmas, which is the day I was born on earth. My wonderful Mother gave birth to Me in Bethlehem but in a stable, as there was no place in the inn. There on the straw is where I entered the world and she laid Me in a manger. However, My Heavenly Father was very happy that I was born. He sent angels to sing around the stable and a huge star came down over the place where I was. The Father showed you that His Son had been born a human being in order to teach you all the truth about God and what He expects from each one of you. Yes, I came into the world to offer Myself in sacrifice for your salvation. My sacrifice on the cross was to atone for your sins and to bring you all close to Me. Come and visit Me in your parish church and pray that you will receive the graces you need to repent of your sins and believe in Me with all your heart. I come as your Savior to bring you to heaven one day. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. I hope you are enjoying the great Feast of Christmas.

The Birth of Jesus

Dear Friends,
A reading from
 St. Matthew’s Gospel (1:18-25):
Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly. Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means “God is with us.”
When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home. He had no relations with her until she bore a son, and he named him Jesus.

All couples who wish to join the Families for Jesus will commit one evening a week for a whole year in order to be initiated into this community. They will work through seminars, courses, talks, discussion groups, workshops and retreats as part of their training. The Brothers and Sisters of Jesus will guide these couples in these weekly gatherings of prayer, religious studies, spiritual formation, and in their apostolate, working together and sharing their lives with one another. They will also welcome visits to their homes by the Contemplative Brothers and Sisters. There will be no financial obligation. After the year of formation is completed, the candidates can apply as a couple to join the Families for Jesus.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Be full of joy My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters scattered all over the world. The anniversary of My birth has arrived. It is tonight that My Mother gave birth to Me in a stable in Bethlehem. Indeed I am Emmanuel, the Son of God who came to live among you. I have a special gift for all My friends if they celebrate My anniversary by going to Holy Mass and receiving Me in Holy Communion. Make a special offering of yourselves to Me on Christmas Day and you will be blessed indeed. Although you do not see Me today but believe that I am there will you and that I live in your heart. I love you all and I bless you.”

Father Melvin

P.S. I wish you all a Holy and Joyful Christmas with many blessings from the Lord.
