The Return from Egypt

Dear Friends,
A reading from St.
Matthew’s Gospel (2:19-23):
When Herod had died, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child’s life are dead.” He rose, took the child and his mother, and went to the land of Israel. But when he beard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go back there. And because he had been warned in a dream, he departed for the region of Galilee. He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, “He shall be called a Nazorean.”

Yesterday Friday we had some snow but it rained off and on during the day. A lot of the snow that fell on Thursday night disappeared but there is slush here and there. Again I thank all those who sent me donations in the last few weeks. It is a great help to buy heating oil and to pay my bills. May the Lord bless you all for all your help.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Do not fear My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me and follow Me. I lived for some years in Egypt when I was very young. My foster father Joseph was a carpenter so he could work most of the time and so we didn’t suffer. We had enough to eat. When Herod died, an angel came to Joseph while he was sleeping and told him that we should all return to Israel for those who wanted to kill me were all dead. Indeed we traveled from the border of Egypt to Jerusalem and when Joseph heard that Herod’s son was now the king, Joseph decided to go and live in Nazareth. This is the town I grew up in and I stayed there until I started My public life.
“Today many people move from country to country. Because of suffering in their countries, they decide to find a peaceful place. It is not easy to adapt to a foreign land but after awhile one gets use to the new country. If you should move, remember that I am with you and I will help you. I will give you the graces you need and the enlightenment to help you to find the peace you need. Repent of all your sins and never forget that I am your Savior who has all power. I love you all.”

The Massacre of the Infants

The Massacre of the Infants

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Matthew’s Gospel (2:16-18):

When Herod realized that he had been deceived by the magi, he became furious. He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had ascertained from the magi. Then was fulfilled what had been said through Jeremiah the prophet:

A voice was heard in Ramah,
sobbing and loud lamentations,
Rachel weeping for her children,
and she would not be consoled,
since they were no more.”

————————————————-

We had a snowstorm during the night but not as much snow fell as was expected. There are still bare spots here and there. It is raining this morning and I hope that the snow will all disappear.
As regards the Families for Jesus, what still remains is the subjects to be studied over a period of one year. They will study the Bible starting with the book of Genesis. There will be talks on prayer, the role of Baptism in our lives and of all the sacraments. There will be talks on the doctrine of the Church.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,
“I love you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters living in every country of the world. How terrible King Herod was that he decided to kill all the boys around Bethlehem who were two years old and under. These innocent children had done nothing wrong. What he wanted to do in fact was to kill My Son Jesus who was just an infant at the time. God protected Him by warning us to flee in order to save the child.
“Today in most countries of the world millions of unborn infants are killed by abortion. This is murder and so many people do not see the evil they are doing. These abortions cause me great pain and how I wish the people of the world would stop these killings. I want every conceived child to be born. Every child has a right to live and no one has the right to kill even one of them. Pray My sons and daughters that all may respect life. I love you all.”

The Flight into Egypt

The Flight into Egypt

Dear Friends,
A reading from
St. Matthew’s Gospel (2:13-15):
When [the Magi] had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.” Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”

The goal of the Families for Jesus is to live intimately with Jesus and acquire His mind and heart. St. Paul’s saying, “It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me” (Gal.2, 20) should come alive for the couple. Jesus has to be in charge of their whole lives and all should be done in union with Him. No one can reach perfection in this world, but by focusing on Jesus they can advance a good way on the road. The spiritual life has to progress on two fronts: 1- deeper union in heart and mind of the couple and 2- deeper union with Jesus. The two cannot be separated for the couple. As Marriage Encounter will be fruitful for their life as a couple, so will the encounter with Jesus be fruitful for their life with Him. Such encounters with Jesus as in the Cursillo weekend are important for deepening their faith. The Charismatic Movement is excellent in strengthening their relationship with Jesus through the Holy Spirit. All of these bring them closer to the Lord and will play a significant part in the Families for Jesus.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“As you are now in the season of Christmas, I want you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to rejoice together with Me at this special time. After the Magi came to visit Me, the angel come to My foster father Joseph to tell him to take My mother and I to Egypt as King Herod wanted to kill Me. That same night we fled by road to this southern country. In no time Herod’s army came to Bethlehem and they killed all the small children they could find hoping by killing all of them I would be killed with them. We went to live in Egypt for about seven years until King Herod died. Then we returned to Israel and went to live in Nazareth where I grew up. So you see even as a baby they wanted to kill Me. I call you all to live in union with Me and to be men and women of prayer. Do not be afraid of the world and what these people can do but do all that I have called you to do. I bless you all.”
