Jesus before Herod

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Luke’s Gospel (
23:6-16):
On hearing this Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean; and upon learning that he was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod who was in Jerusalem at that time. Herod was very glad to see Jesus; he had been wanting to see him for a long time, for he had heard about him and had been hoping to see him perform some sign. He questioned him at length, but he gave him no answer. The chief priests and scribes, meanwhile, stood by accusing him harshly. Even Herod and his soldiers treated him contemptuously and mocked him, and after clothing him in resplendent garb, he sent him back to Pilate. Herod and Pilate became friends that very day, even though they had been enemies formerly. Pilate then summoned the chief priests, the rulers, and the people and said to them, “You brought this man to me and accused him of inciting the people to revolt. I have conducted my investigation in your presence and have not found this man guilty of the charges you have brought against him, nor did Herod, for he sent him back to us. So no capital crime has been committed by him. Therefore I shall have him flogged and then release him.”

I was unable to pay the property tax for the chapel and the land for the past two years. Now the PEI government has threatened me saying that they will take over the property if I do not pay the outstanding bill. I do not have the money to pay that bill at this time. I put the whole matter in the hands of Our Blessed Mother to help me with this problem.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,
“I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who have accepted Me as their heavenly Mother and pray the rosary every day. I followed My Son as He lived His Passion on Good Friday. After Pilate questioned Him and found out that He was a Galilean he sent Him to King Herod, who did not find that He had committed any crime and sent Him back to Pilate. Pilate too did not find that Jesus had committed any crime but he had Him flogged in a horrible way. He was hit with ropes with pieces of iron at the end of them that entered His flesh and caused Him to bleed profusely and the floor was covered with blood. The flogging caused Me great pain to see My Son being beaten so terribly all over His body.
“My Son Jesus suffered all this for your salvation My sons and daughters. It is your sins that caused Him so much pain. During this time of Lent, repent of all your sins and ask Him for the grace never to sin again. I am praying for all of you.”

Jesus before Pilate

Jesus before Pilate

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Luke’s Gospel (23:1-7):

Then the whole assembly of them arose and brought [Jesus] before Pilate. They brought charges against him, saying, “We found this man misleading our people; he opposes the payment of taxes to Caesar and maintains that he is the Messiah, a king.” Pilate asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” He said to him in reply, “You say so.” Pilate then addressed the chief priests and the crowds, “I find this man not guilty.” But they were adamant and said, “He is inciting the people with his teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee where he began even to here.”
On hearing this Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean; and upon learning that he was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod who was in Jerusalem at that time.

Again I thank all those who sent me gifts. They are a great help and they take away my headache. It is less cold here these days with the temperature coming to above the freezing point in the afternoon. We do not have that much snow yet.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,
“I call you all to show your love to My Son Jesus who suffered much, especially you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who made a point to enter truly into the season of Lent. These forty days are to help you to prepare yourselves to celebrate with a heart full of faith, hope and love the coming paschal mystery. I followed My Son Jesus as He suffered the Passion at the hands of the Jewish leaders and of Pontius Pilate. Although Pilate did not find Him guilty, yet at the end He condemned Him to death. I stood at the foot of His cross as He hanged on it in great suffering until He died.
“Remember He is your Lord and Savior who came on earth to save you all. He loves you and He is calling you to believe in Him with all your heart and mind. I suffered together with Him and this is why I am your Mother today. I love you all.”

Jesus before the Sanhedrin

Jesus before the Sanhedrin

Dear Friends,
A reading from St. Luke’s Gospel (
22:66-71):
When day came the council of elders of the people met, both chief priests and scribes, and they brought [Jesus] before their Sanhedrin. They said, “If you are the Messiah, tell us,” but he replied to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe, and if I question, you will not respond. But from this time on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.” They all asked, “Are you then the Son of God?” He replied to them, “You say that I am.” Then they said, “What further need have we for testimony? We have heard it from his own mouth.”

————————————————-

Yesterday was Ask Wednesday, the beginning of the Season of Lent. I received the ashes and I suppose most of you received them too. We are called to follow Jesus in the desert. He spent forty days in the desert without eating and this points to the fact that the Jewish people spent forty years in the desert after they came out of slavery in Egypt. We are called to be in the desert for forty days to repent of our sins and to return to Jesus, Our Lord and Our Savior. Let us pray every day during this time of Lent.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Do not fear to show your faith in Me My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are baptized and follow Me. I was arrested by the Jewish leaders and brought first to the religious court called the Sanhedrin. I answered their questions and especially I told them that I was the Son of God. The leaders did not believe Me and they used My answer to bring Me to Pilate to condemn Me to death.
“Today many who believe in Me suffer greatly because so many people are against Me. They have rejected My Church and all I have done when I was on earth. However, do not worry about these people who follow Satan but remain united to Me and you will be blessed. I will bring you one day to heaven with Me. During this period of Lent, I would like you all to contemplate My suffering, which I underwent out of love for you to atone for your sins. I am always ready to help you if you come to Me and ask for My help. I bless you all.”
