Accusation against Stephen

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (6:8-15):

Now Stephen, filled with grace and power, was working great wonders and signs among the people. Certain members of the so-called Synagogue of Freedmen, Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and people from Cilicia and Asia, came forward and debated with Stephen, but they could not withstand the wisdom and the spirit with which he spoke. Then they instigated some men to say, “We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.” They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, accosted him, seized him, and brought him before the Sanhedrin. They presented false witnesses who testified,
“This man never stops saying things against this holy place and the law. For we have heard him claim that this Jesus the Nazorean will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”
All those who sat in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

I celebrate every day Holy Mass and I pray my breviary every day following the different hours. I always pray my rosary for many intentions including praying for the sick and the conversion of all who do not believe in Our Savior and Lord. I never forget to pray my divine mercy chaplet, which is very special to me. Besides all this I spent time in contemplative prayer. We all need to have an intense prayer life so we can remain close to Jesus and Our Blessed Mother.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“There are always people who present false witnesses against us, but do not be afraid My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have given your life to Me completely. Just follow Me every day and I will show these people that they are wrong and just speaking falsehood. Look at our great friend, St. Stephen, the deacon. He was a holy man who was not afraid to speak about Me. Yet many presented false witnesses against him and the members of the Sanhedrin believed the lies they were told. Satan always wants to put down people by getting his partners to tell all kinds of lies. At the end Stephen died a martyr like Me. He is now in heaven with Me after being a great witness for Me without any fear. Come My dear friends and stand up for what you believe. I will bless you indeed with many graces and give you many gifts too. I love you all.”

The Need for Assistants

The Need for Assistants

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (6:1-7):

At that time, as the number of disciples continued to grow, the Hellenists complained against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. So the Twelve called together the community of the disciples and said, “It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to serve at table. Brothers, select from among you seven reputable men, filled with the Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task, whereas we shall devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
The proposal was acceptable to the whole community, so they chose Stephen, a man filled with faith and the holy Spirit, also Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicholas of Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles who prayed and laid hands on them. The word of God continued to spread, and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly; even a large group of priests were becoming obedient to the faith.

I give thanks to the Lord that my health is great now and I put on some of the weight I had lost when I was in hospital last year. I did not have any more trouble with my stomach and I eat ok. The Lord is good and He has helped me to get back on my feet. I praise the Lord.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Be always ready to help My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have committed your life to Me. During the early church there was need to have some people to help serve the poor and the widows. These people that were chosen were called ‘deacons’. The greatest among them was Saint Stephen who was martyred because of his faith. He was not afraid to speak the truth to all those who wish to listen to him.
“Today there are still deacons in My church. I would like to have deacons in all the dioceses of the church. It is a fact that many dioceses do not have them yet and instead they use lay people to do the work of a deacon. I call on the bishops of the church to start training these men to be deacons and to have at least two in every parish. They will assist at Mass and they will help the priest to distribute Holy Communion. They will also be able to preach in church and to teach those who prepare for the sacrament of marriage and other sacraments. In this case My Church will go forward and the bishops and priests will receive great graces and the lay people too. I bless you all and I call you all to pray for deacons in all the parishes of the world.”

Trial before the Sanhedrin (continued)

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (5:33-42):

When [the members of the Sanhedrin] heard [Peter’s words], they became infuriated and wanted to put [Peter and the other Apostles] to death. But a Pharisee in the Sanhedrin named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, respected by all the people, stood up, ordered the men to be put outside for a short time, and said to them,
“Fellow Israelites, be careful what you are about to do to these men. Some time ago, Theudas appeared, claiming to be someone important, and about four hundred men joined him, but he was killed, and all those who were loyal to him were disbanded and came to nothing. After him came Judas the Galilean at the time of the census. He also drew people after him, but he too perished and all who were loyal to him were scattered. So now I tell you, have nothing to do with these men, and let them go. For if this endeavor or this activity is of human origin, it will destroy itself. But if it comes from God, you will not be able to destroy them; you may even find yourselves fighting against God.”
They were persuaded by him. After recalling the apostles, they had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them. So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name. And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Messiah, Jesus.

We had a little snow two nights ago but it all melted yesterday and in the evening it was beautiful and sunny. Almost all the snow around the house is gone. It melted day after day. I am praying now that the temperature starts going up.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“If you suffer for My name, do not be afraid My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters scattered all over the countries of the world. St. Peter and the Apostles suffered because they were preaching about Me and the court had forbidden them to talk in My Name. So the Apostles were beaten. There are many followers of mine, whether bishops, priests or lay people, who suffered and continue to suffer today because they believe in Me and were not afraid to talk about Me and to write about Me. There are even some today that are martyred like in the early years of the church. Pray for the Church and for all the followers that their faith be strong and that they will be courageous to preach the truth every day. I bless you all.”
