The End of the First Mission

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (14:21-28):

After [Saint Paul and Barnabas] had proclaimed the good news to that city and made a considerable number of disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch. They strengthened the spirits of the disciples and exhorted them to persevere in the faith, saying, “It is necessary for us to undergo many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.” They appointed presbyters for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, commended them to the Lord in whom they had put their faith. Then they traveled through Pisidia and reached Pamphylia. After proclaiming the word at Perga they went down to Attalia. From there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work they had now accomplished. And when they arrived, they called the church together and reported what God had done with them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. Then they spent no little time with the disciples.

It was a joy to hear that a boy of 11 years was healed. This boy was suffering from cancer and I was asked by his mother and relatives to pray for him that the Lord would heal him. He was sent to a hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, about a week ago, and they operated on him and found that there was no cancer, although they had seen it very well from the tests they had taken. The doctors said that this was incomprehensible. Yes, indeed the Lord had brought about a great miracle. Let us thank the Lord for all He does.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Remain strong, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who form part of My great family. St. Paul tells you in the reading that Christians undergo many hardships in order to enter the Kingdom of God. Do not fear this hardship. It comes from the evil one who wants you to stop walking with Me and to come back to the world and to follow your own ideas. In order to reach heaven, it is necessary to follow the will of God and not your own will. Your will is corrupted and it will lead you to sin by following the wrong path. You see this every day in the world. Because people follow their own will, they commit adultery, abortion, euthanasia and same-sex marriage, etc. All this goes completely against My will and unless they return to me and repent of their sins, they cannot be saved. You need to pray with great faith every day. There is nobody who loves you as I do, and I am always there to help you. I bless you all.”

The Jews’ Reaction to St. Paul’s Preaching

The Jews’ Reaction to St. Paul’s Preaching

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (13:42-52):

As [St. Paul and his friends] were leaving, [the Jews] invited them to speak on these subjects the following sabbath. After the congregation had dispersed, many Jews and worshipers who were converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to remain faithful to the grace of God.
On the following sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and with violent abuse contradicted what Paul said. Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us, ‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of salvation to the ends of the earth.’
The Gentiles were delighted when they heard this and glorified the word of the Lord. All who were destined for eternal life came to believe, and the word of the Lord continued to spread through the whole region. The Jews, however, incited the women of prominence who were worshipers and the leading men of the city, stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their territory. So they shook the dust from their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium. The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.

We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and we will have another sunny day today, Sunday. The temperature should come to 17 degrees Celsius.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Rejoice My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who accepted the preaching of the Apostles and came to believe in Me with all your heart. You see the reaction of the Jews when Saint Paul teaches them about Me. They refuse to believe and drive Saint Paul and his friend out of the city. However, many of the Gentiles believed what Saint Paul taught them and they rejoiced that I am their Savior. They believed with all their hearts and they spread the Good News to all the people they met. In no time a large crowd of people in Antioch believed in Me and it is there that those who believed in Me were first called Christians.
“I want the same thing to happen today in all the countries of the world. Be great examples to all those you meet and do not fear to talk to them about My love for them and all I suffered to bring them into the light. Proclaim to them that I am the resurrected One who lives forever. I bless you all.”

St. Paul Preached about Jesus in the Synagogue

St. Paul Preached about Jesus in the Synagogue

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (13:26-41):

[Paul said:] “My brothers, children of the family of Abraham, and those others among you who are God-fearing, to us this word of salvation has been sent. The inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders failed to recognize him, and by condemning him they fulfilled the oracles of the prophets that are read sabbath after sabbath. For even though they found no grounds for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him put to death, and when they had accomplished all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and placed him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead, and for many days he appeared to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. These are now his witnesses before the people. We ourselves are proclaiming this good news to you that what God promised our ancestors he has brought to fulfillment for us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second psalm, ‘You are my son; this day I have begotten you.’ And that he raised him from the dead never to return to corruption he declared in this way, ‘I shall give you the benefits assured to David.’ That is why he also says in another psalm, ‘You will not suffer your holy one to see corruption.’
“Now David, after he had served the will of God in his lifetime, fell asleep, was gathered to his ancestors, and did see corruption. But the one whom God raised up did not see corruption. You must know, my brothers, that through him forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you, and in regard to everything from which you could not be justified under the law of Moses, in him every believer is justified. Be careful, then, that what was said in the prophets not come about: ‘Look on, you scoffers, be amazed and disappear. For I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will never believe even if someone tells you.’

Let us thank the Lord for all the graces He gives us.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,
“Believe in My Son Jesus with all your heart, My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters living in the world today. St. Paul taught the Jews in Antioch what was written in the Bible about the Savior of the world. It is written that He was to die and be buried but within three days He would come back to life. Indeed this is exactly what happened to My Son Jesus. I was there when He was nailed to the cross and I was present when He died and was buried. His resurrection took place three days after He was buried. He came to visit Me and He showed Himself to all the Apostles. You know that He visited them for 40 days in order to strengthen their faith and then He ascended into heaven. He gave the Apostles an order to go throughout the world to preach the Good News about Him. This is what St. Paul did at Antioch but many Jews refused to accept the words of Paul and so he went to the Gentiles.
“I call upon you all, My sons and daughters, to turn to My Son Jesus and to accept Him as your Savior and to believe all that is written in the Bible about Him. I bless you all.”
