The Coming of the Spirit

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (2:1-13):
When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.
Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven staying in Jerusalem. At this sound, they gathered in a large crowd, but they were confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language. They were astounded, and in amazement they asked, “Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans? Then how does each of us hear them in his own native language? We are Parthians, Medes, and Elamites, inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya near Cyrene, as well as travelers from Rome, both Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs, yet we hear them speaking in our own tongues of the mighty acts of God.” They were all astounded and bewildered, and said to one another, “What does this mean?” But others said, scoffing, “They have had too much new wine.”

Today is the great Feast of Pentecost and it took place fifty days after the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. It was at Pentecost that God the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles and all those in the upper room. This is the day that the Church began and about 3,000 people were baptized that day.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Rejoice, rejoice, My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters on this great Feast of Pentecost, the day of the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. I had to return to the Father in heaven so that the Father and I could send down the Holy Spirit upon the world. He came with a great sign and filled them all and all began to speak in different languages. Many people gathered outside and Peter went out to speak to them and to call them to repent of their sins and to receive baptism. With the baptism of many people My Church began with the Apostles in charge.
“My dear friends I want you to celebrate this great feast today and call upon the Holy Spirit to come upon you. Open your heart to receive the graces and gifts that He wants to give you. He is the great sanctifier and you need His help. May He reside in your heart always. I bless you all.”

Father Melvin
P.S. I wish you all a joyful Feast of Pentecost.

The Jews accused Paul before Gallio

The Jews accused Paul before Gallio

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (18:12-23):

But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews rose up together against Paul and brought him to the tribunal, saying, “This man is inducing people to worship God contrary to the law.” When Paul was about to reply, Gallio spoke to the Jews, “If it were a matter of some crime or malicious fraud, I should with reason hear the complaint of you Jews; but since it is a question of arguments over doctrine and titles and your own law, see to it yourselves. I do not wish to be a judge of such matters.” And he drove them away from the tribunal. They all seized Sosthenes, the synagogue official, and beat him in full view of the tribunal. But none of this was of concern to Gallio.
Paul remained for quite some time, and after saying farewell to the brothers he sailed for Syria, together with Priscilla and Aquila. At Cenchreae he had his hair cut because he had taken a vow. When they reached Ephesus, he left them there, while he entered the synagogue and held discussions with the Jews. Although they asked him to stay for a longer time, he did not consent, but as he said farewell he promised, “I shall come back to you again, God willing.” Then he set sail from Ephesus. Upon landing at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church and then went down to Antioch. After staying there some time, he left and traveled in orderly sequence through the Galatian country and Phrygia, bringing strength to all the disciples.

Our Blessed Mother is surely happy with all your prayers, so please continue to pray with Her.

Below you will find the message of Our Dear Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,
“I love you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who follow My Son Jesus with all your hearts. One who had a great love for Jesus, My Son, was Saint Paul. He traveled to many places in his time and spoke everywhere about the Good News of My Son Jesus. He suffered at the hands of the Jews because they did not want to accept his teachings and some did not want to hear about their Savior Jesus, the Son of God.
“It is important for all of you to learn from Saint Paul and to be always ready to talk about My Son Jesus to anyone who is ready to listen. Speak especially about the great events of His life, such as His birth, the transfiguration on the mountain, the miracle at the wedding feast at Cana, the institution of the Holy Eucharist with His Apostles, His Passion and His death on the cross and at the end His resurrection from the dead. All this shows that He is indeed the Son of God, the Messiah, the Savior of the world. All are called to believe in Him so that they can be saved. I ask you all to pray for the conversion of all the people of the world. I bless you all.”

Paul in Corinth

Paul in Corinth

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (18:1-11):

After this he left Athens and went to Corinth. There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. He went to visit them and, because he practiced the same trade, stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade. Every sabbath, he entered into discussions in the synagogue, attempting to convince both Jews and Greeks.
When Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began to occupy himself totally with preaching the word, testifying to the Jews that the Messiah was Jesus. When they opposed him and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be on your heads! I am clear of responsibility. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” So he left there and went to a house belonging to a man named Titus Justus, a worshiper of God; his house was next to a synagogue. Crispus, the synagogue official, came to believe in the Lord along with his entire household, and many of the Corinthians who heard believed and were baptized.
One night in a vision the Lord said to Paul, “Do not be afraid. Go on speaking, and do not be silent, for I am with you. No one will attack and harm you, for I have many people in this city.” He settled there for a year and a half and taught the word of God among them.

————————————————-

I spent most of last night in prayer to Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother. They asked you all too to pray for a very special intention. May the Lord bless you all.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“As I told Saint Paul, I tell to you all ‘Do not be afraid’, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are part of My Mystical Body. Remember I am with you to protect you and to help you. Saint Paul stayed one year and a half in Corinth to teach the people there about Me. He worked very hard and at the end, many of the people in that city were Christians. I was indeed very happy with the good work he did there.
“Today I need many followers of mine to be like Saint Paul. That is why I asked Father Melvin to begin the Contemplative Brothers of Jesus and the Contemplative Sisters of Jesus. They will be able to act like Saint Paul and work hard for the New Evangelization. Pray My friends that these religious groups begin shortly. I bless you all.”
