Paul before King Agrippa

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (25:23-27, 26:1-6):

The next day Agrippa and Bernice came with great ceremony and entered the audience hall in the company of cohort commanders and the prominent men of the city and, by command of Festus, Paul was brought in. And Festus said, “King Agrippa and all you here present with us, look at this man about whom the whole Jewish populace petitioned me here and in Jerusalem, clamoring that he should live no longer. I found, however, that he had done nothing deserving death, and so when he appealed to the Emperor, I decided to send him. But I have nothing definite to write about him to our sovereign; therefore I have brought him before all of you, and particularly before you, King Agrippa, so that I may have something to write as a result of this investigation. For it seems senseless to me to send up a prisoner without indicating the charges against him.”
Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You may now speak on your own behalf.” So Paul stretched out his hand and began his defense. “I count myself fortunate, King Agrippa, that I am to defend myself before you today against all the charges made against me by the Jews, especially since you are an expert in all the Jewish customs and controversies. And therefore I beg you to listen patiently. My manner of living from my youth, a life spent from the beginning among my people and in Jerusalem, all the Jews know. They have known about me from the start, if they are willing to testify, that I have lived my life as a Pharisee, the strictest party of our religion. But now I am standing trial because of my hope in the promise made by God to our ancestors.”

I was very tired yesterday, as I had not slept much the night before. I got up late and I was not able to write the message, but I am much better today, so here is the message for today.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I bless you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who walk with Me every day. Saint Paul after his conversion walked with Me every day until the end of his life. In the Acts of the Apostles there are many chapters about this great saint. The Jews wanted to kill him because of his faith in Me. I helped him to escape from the hands of his murderers and he was taken to Caesarea and the trial was held there. The judge wanted to send him back to Jerusalem, but he refused and asked to be taken to Rome to the Emperor, as he was a Roman. He was also examined by King Agrippa, but in time he went to Rome. He died a martyr in Rome.
“My dear friends, you all suffer at times because of your faith in Me. When you suffer, you are united with Me in a very close relationship. You know that I suffered for you because I love you and I want you all to be saved. When you suffer, you imitate Me and work together with Me for the salvation of the world. Continue you good work and you will be with Me in heaven one day. I love you all.”

Jesus Lost in Jerusalem

Jesus Lost in Jerusalem

Dear Friends,
A reading from Saint Luke’s Gospel (2:41-51):

Each year his parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, and when he was twelve years old, they went up according to festival custom. After they had completed its days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it. Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances, but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.”
And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he said to them. He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart.

Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Our Blessed Mother. This expresses Her great love for Her Son Jesus and for all of us who are Her sons and daughters.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,
“I embrace you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who accept Me as your Mother and who show great honor to Me. I love you all. It was a great sorrow for My husband Joseph and for Me when we lost Jesus when He was only twelve years of age. Just think what was going through our minds when we were searching for Him for three days. We thought that He had been kidnapped and taken far away and we did not know how we would find Him. Yes in My heart I knew that He was the Son of God and that the Father would take good care of His dear Son. What joy it was for Me to find Him in the temple in Jerusalem. There He was with the teachers, asking questions and answering their questions. Yes, indeed, I asked My Son, ‘Why have you done this to us?’ His answer I did not understand at that time. However, I kept His words in My Immaculate Heart and in time I understood what He said to us. He wanted to remind us that He was the Son of God and His true place was in the house of God the Father. I never forgot these words and I always believed that He was the Son of God and the Savior of the world.
“Jesus on the cross before He died, gave Me to you all as your Mother. I love you all with all My heart and I want you all close to Jesus, My Son, and close to Me, Your Mother. I bless you all.”

Appeal to Caesar

Appeal to Caesar

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (25:1:12):

Three days after his arrival in the province, Festus went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem where the chief priests and Jewish leaders presented him their formal charges against Paul. They asked him as a favor to have him sent to Jerusalem, for they were plotting to kill him along the way. Festus replied that Paul was being held in custody in Caesarea and that he himself would be returning there shortly. He said, “Let your authorities come down with me, and if this man has done something improper, let them accuse him.”
After spending no more than eight or ten days with them, he went down to Caesarea, and on the following day took his seat on the tribunal and ordered that Paul be brought in. When he appeared, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem surrounded him and brought many serious charges against him, which they were unable to prove. In defending himself Paul said, “I have committed no crime either against the Jewish law or against the temple or against Caesar.”
Then Festus, wishing to ingratiate himself with the Jews, said to Paul in reply, “Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and there stand trial before me on these charges?” Paul answered, “I am standing before the tribunal of Caesar; this is where I should be tried. I have committed no crime against the Jews, as you very well know. If I have committed a crime or done anything deserving death, I do not seek to escape the death penalty; but if there is no substance to the charges they are bringing against me, then no one has the right to hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar.”
Then Festus, after conferring with his council, replied, “You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you will go.”

Tomorrow evening I will have a Healing Service in the Chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. I will pray for all those who have written to me. May the Lord bless you all.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Listen to My call, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who live in union with Me. I called Saint Paul to go to Rome to bring the Good News to that great city. So at the trial in front of Felix, he refused to go to Jerusalem and so he appealed to the Emperor in Rome. The tribunal gave him the permission and in time he was transferred to Rome. There he lived some years to preach about Me and to welcome many Romans into My Church. Although he was under threat, he did not stop calling the people to believe in Me and to follow Me.
“I call you all, My brothers and sisters, to be missionaries to the people with whom you live. You know that there are many who were going to church but now they stopped going. Pray for these people that they may come back to Me and go to church regularly. Visit them and do not be afraid to talk to them about Me. I will give you the graces needed so you can teach them well and to call them to believe. I will give them the gift of faith and they will return to Me. I love you all and I bless you all.”
