The Gospel Teaching

Dear Friends,
A reading from Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor 15:1-11):

Now I am reminding you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you indeed received and in which you also stand. Through it you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures; that he was buried; that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures; that he appeared to Kephas, then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. After that he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
Last of all, as to one born abnormally, he appeared to me. For I am the least of the apostles, not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been ineffective. Indeed, I have toiled harder than all of them; not I, however, but the grace of God that is with me. Therefore, whether it be I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

Our dear Mother calls for prayers that Her desires will soon be accomplished. We know that She is praying for us every day.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Believe the words preached to you in My Church, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have accepted Me as your Savior. Saint Paul worked hard to spread the good news of the Gospel in many countries, and many came to believe and to follow Me. You know that I am the Son of God born of Blessed Virgin Mary. I came into the world by taking upon Myself human nature through My Blessed Mother so I could teach you and suffer and die for your salvation. I agreed to suffer and die for you because I love you. You know that I suffered terribly and I died a horrible death nailed to the cross. Yet three days afterwards, I came back from the dead never to die again. After forty days with My Apostles after My resurrection, I ascended into heaven and now I sit at the right hand of My Heavenly Father as the King of the Universe. I have all power to help you and to guide you. So come and believe in Me and I will be your friend on earth and one day welcome you in heaven. I love you all.”

Functions of these Gifts

Dear Friends,
A reading from Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor 14:20-25):

Brothers, stop being childish in your thinking. In respect to evil be like infants, but in your thinking be mature. It is written in the law: “By people speaking strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to me, says the Lord.” Thus, tongues are a sign not for those who believe but for unbelievers, whereas prophecy is not for unbelievers but for those who believe.
So if the whole church meets in one place and everyone speaks in tongues, and then uninstructed people or unbelievers should come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds? But if everyone is prophesying, and an unbeliever or uninstructed person should come in, he will be convinced by everyone and judged by everyone, and the secrets of his heart will be disclosed, and so he will fall down and worship God, declaring, “God is really in your midst.”

I thank the Lord again for the beautiful day we had yesterday and we should have a beautiful day today too. The Lord is good to us.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Give thanks to the Holy Spirit for all the wonderful gifts that He gives to you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have receive these wonderful gifts. The first gift that one receives is the gift of tongues. This gift helps you to pray with the power of the Holy Spirit. Every Christian should receive this gift and use it every day during their time of prayer. Not all but a good group receives the gift of prophecy. This gift teaches the believers about important points of their faith. It also reveals certain things that have happened to some people and it will teach too about the future. It is amazing for people to be told of some very private happenings, which nobody knows, but through prophecy it is known. Also through prophecy a person may receive an explanation of something that has happened in his or her life that he or she does not understand. The Holy Spirit works in marvelous way. Remain in the Holy Spirit every day and make use of the gifts He has given you. I bless you all.”

Prophecy Greater than Tongues

Prophecy Greater than Tongues

Dear Friends,
A reading from Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor 14.1-12):

Pursue love, but strive eagerly for the spiritual gifts, above all that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to human beings but to God, for no one listens; he utters mysteries in spirit. On the other hand, one who prophesies does speak to human beings, for their building up, encouragement, and solace. Whoever speaks in a tongue builds himself up, but whoever prophesies builds up the church. Now I should like all of you to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. One who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be built up.
Now, brothers, if I should come to you speaking in tongues, what good will I do you if I do not speak to you by way of revelation, or knowledge, or prophecy, or instruction? Likewise, if inanimate things that produce sound, such as flute or harp, do not give out the tones distinctly, how will what is being played on flute or harp be recognized? And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound, who will get ready for battle? Similarly, if you, because of speaking in tongues, do not utter intelligible speech, how will anyone know what is being said? For you will be talking to the air. It happens that there are many different languages in the world, and none is meaningless; but if I do not know the meaning of a language, I shall be a foreigner to one who speaks it, and one who speaks it a foreigner to me. So with yourselves: since you strive eagerly for spirits, seek to have an abundance of them for building up the church.

————————————————-

We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and it was warm in the afternoon. We will have a sunny day today too.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I am ready to give you many spiritual gifts, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters living in every country of the world, if you ask Me for them. One of the gifts is speaking in tongues. You will speak the language of the Spirit and you will glorify your God and Lord. Some people speak in tongues for hours. Others have the gift of prophecy, by which the Holy Spirit gives them a message for the people present. This message is to teach them and to call them to follow the right path. You should be ready to listen to the prophetic messages as they are given to you for a very special purpose. Some others have the spiritual gift of healing. This gift too is given by the Holy Spirit in order to heal those who are sick in body or spirit. There are also many other gifts that come from the Holy Spirit. Open your heart to receive any of the gifts that the Holy Spirit wants to give you. You are to make use of these gifts for the glory of God. I love you and I bless you.”
