Faith and Works

Dear Friends,
A reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Galatians (2:15-21):

We, who are Jews by nature and not sinners from among the Gentiles, yet who know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves are found to be sinners, is Christ then a minister of sin? Of course not! But if I am building up again those things that I tore down, then I show myself to be a transgressor. For through the law I died to the law, that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ; yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me; insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me. I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.

Tomorrow is the first Friday of the month of September. I will have a Healing Service at the chapel in the evening. We will start with the rosary at 7:00 p.m. and the Healing Service at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Be men and women of strong faith and I especially call My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me as their Savior. The Jewish people had to follow the works of the law. They had all kinds of practices they had to do, but these works cannot save you. What every person needs is faith, great faith. The one who believes, however, must show by his work that he or she is a believer of mine. If you say you believe but do not go to Mass on Sunday without a reason, your absence shows that your faith is weak. As a Christian you are called to do works of charity to help the poor, the sick and the crippled ones. So your faith has to show itself by many good works. Some of these are: to pray regularly, to go to church regularly, to give food to the hungry, to support your church, to forgive those who have hurt you in any way, etc.
“In this way you are following Me and My teaching. I will bless you indeed and one day you will be with Me in heaven. I bless you and I love you.”

The Council or Jerusalem

The Council or Jerusalem

Dear Friends,
A reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Galatians (2:1-10):
Then after fourteen years I again went up to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also. I went up in accord with a revelation, and I presented to them the gospel that I preach to the Gentiles – but privately to those of repute – so that I might not be running, or have run, in vain. Moreover, not even Titus, who was with me, although he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised, but because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy on our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, that they might enslave us –  to them we did not submit even for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might remain intact for you.
But from those who were reputed to be important (what they once were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality) – those of repute made me add nothing. On the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter to the circumcised, for the one who worked in Peter for an apostolate to the circumcised worked also in me for the Gentiles, and when they recognized the grace bestowed upon me, James and Peter and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas their right hands in partnership, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. Only, we were to be mindful of the poor, which is the very thing I was eager to do.

Although it was cloudy yesterday morning, the sun did come out in the afternoon and we had a lovely evening.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Open your hearts to the General Councils of the Church, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters. I was the one who called the first Council known as the Council of Jerusalem. Many of the leaders of the Church were present including the Apostles. The big problem which they had to face was this: should the Gentiles first become Jews before they can become Christians? With the Apostles leading, they came to the conclusion through the power of the Holy Spirit that the Gentiles did not have to become Jews before becoming followers of My Church. So the Gentiles did not have to be circumcised and they did not have to follow the rules of the Jews, for example, they could eat pork if they were used to it without any trouble. I had not forbidden any people from eating pork, but the Jews were not allowed to eat this kind of meat. The Gentiles only had to follow My teachings as members of My Church. The Apostle Saint Paul was very happy with the outcome, as that was what he taught since the beginning. I had taught him to teach what he was teaching. I now bless you all and I want you all to walk with Me.”

Paul’s Call by Christ

Paul’s Call by Christ

Dear Friends,
A reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Galatians (1:11-24):

Now I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel preached by me is not of human origin. For I did not receive it from a human being, nor was I taught it, but it came through a revelation of Jesus Christ.
For you heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it, and progressed in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my race, since I was even more a zealot for my ancestral traditions. But when God, who from my mother’s womb had set me apart and called me through his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, so that I might proclaim him to the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; rather, I went into Arabia and then returned to Damascus.
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to confer with Kephas [Saint Peter] and remained with him for fifteen days. But I did not see any other of the apostles, only James the brother of the Lord. (As to what I am writing to you, behold, before God, I am not lying.) Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. And I was unknown personally to the churches of Judea that are in Christ; they only kept hearing that “the one who once was persecuting us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” So they glorified God because of me.

It rained heavily yesterday morning but the sun came out in the afternoon and it was warm. I thank the Lord for giving us the sun.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Just like Saint Paul, I want you all to experience My grace, especially you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who call upon Me for help. Many of My followers in Israel and elsewhere were praying for the conversion of Saint Paul, as he was a terror for the Christians. Their prayers were answered and one day as he was on his way to Damascus to arrest My followers, he was struck down by Me and was blinded by a powerful light. I spoke to him these words, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’ He asked who I was and I said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.‘ He was taken to Damascus and there he was baptized. After three years he was a strong believer and I had appointed him an Apostle. He traveled through many countries preaching  My Word and brought many, many people into My Church. At the end he was beheaded in Rome, and now he is in heaven and he is known as a martyr.
“Pray to him and ask him to pray for you. I love you all.”
