The Faith of the Ancients

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Letter to the Hebrews (11:1-12):

Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen. Because of it the ancients were well attested.
By faith we understand that the universe was ordered by the word of God, so that what is visible came into being through the invisible.
By faith Abel offered to God a sacrifice greater than Cain’s. Through this he was attested to be righteous, God bearing witness to his gifts, and through this, though dead, he still speaks.
By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and “he was found no more because God had taken him.” Before he was taken up, he was attested to have pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him, for anyone who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
By faith Noah, warned about what was not yet seen, with reverence built an ark for the salvation of his household. Through this he condemned the world and inherited the righteousness that comes through faith.
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance; he went out, not knowing where he was to go. By faith he sojourned in the promised land as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs of the same promise; for he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and maker is God. By faith he received power to generate, even though he was past the normal age – and Sarah herself was sterile – for he thought that the one who had made the promise was trustworthy. So it was that there came forth from one man, himself as good as dead, descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sands on the seashore.

I thank the Lord for the nice day we had yesterday. It was sunny for a good part of the day and not too cold. Today it should be windy and I hope the sun will shine for at least part of the day.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Be men and women of faith, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have been baptized and have learned about Me. Look at the great ones of the past, how their great faith helped them in all they did. Look at Noah who built the ark after he believed with all his heart what the Father had told him. A great flood would come over the land and only those who were in the ark would be saved. By the ark he saved all his family, a pair of all the animals and the birds too. You know that in your day there are great men and women who had great faith and now they are saints in heaven. Think of Saint Theresa of Lisieux, of Padre Pio, of Saint Brother Andre of Montreal, of Saint Juan Diego of Mexico, of Saint Mother Theresa of Calcutta and many, many more. These great people were full of faith and lived in great love of Me and today they are in heaven. Follow their examples every day of your life on earth and you will be blessed one day. I fill you all with My graces. I love you all.”

Recalling the Past

Recalling the Past

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Letter to the Hebrews (10:19-39):

Therefore, brothers, since through the blood of Jesus we have confidence of entrance into the sanctuary by the new and living way he opened for us through the veil, that is, his flesh, and since we have “a great priest over the house of God,” let us approach with a sincere heart and in absolute trust, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water. Let us hold unwaveringly to our confession that gives us hope, for he who made the promise is trustworthy. We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works. We should not stay away from our assembly, as is the custom of some, but encourage one another, and this all the more as you see the day drawing near.
If we sin deliberately after receiving knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains sacrifice for sins but a fearful prospect of judgment and a flaming fire that is going to consume the adversaries. Anyone who rejects the law of Moses is put to death without pity on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Do you not think that a much worse punishment is due the one who has contempt for the Son of God, considers unclean the covenant-blood by which he was consecrated, and insults the spirit of grace? We know the one who said: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay,” and again: “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Remember the days past when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a great contest of suffering. At times you were publicly exposed to abuse and affliction; at other times you associated yourselves with those so treated. You even joined in the sufferings of those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, knowing that you had a better and lasting possession. Therefore, do not throw away your confidence; it will have great recompense. You need endurance to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.
“For, after just a brief moment, he who is to come shall come; he shall not delay. But my just one shall live by faith, and if he draws back I take no pleasure in him.” We are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have faith and will possess life.

I prayed yesterday and today for all those who were killed and injured in the USA because of the horrible storm in the mid section of that great country. Yesterday we had the rain and the wind which was the tail-end of that terrible storm.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words:
“I call you all My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who through the shedding of My blood have now entered into My Kingdom that you may continue your great work as My disciple. There are so many who have abandoned Me and no longer pray. They do not go to Church to Holy Mass and many do not receive Me in Holy Communion. Please pray that these people will receive the graces they need to repent of their sins and return to Me and My Church. You are all called to love one another and to forgive all those who have hurt you in any way. In so doing I will take away your sins and give you the graces and the strength to follow My steps every day. Our Heavenly Father is not happy with what is going on in the world,  and that is why you see so many horrible things happening these days. Look at what happened in the Philippines and now in the Midwest of the USA. This is only a beginning. There will be more horrible things that will happen if the people do not turn to Me and follow Me. Pray that there will be a great change for the better among the people and they will stop all these horrible sins of abortion, same-sex marriage, the killing of the elderly and others. It is time for all the people to say “no” to Satan and to come and follow Me with their whole heart. I am calling you every day. I love you all.”

One Sacrifice instead of Many

One Sacrifice instead of Many

Dear Friends,
A reading from the Letter to the Hebrews (10:1-18):

Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of them, it can never make perfect those who come to worship by the same sacrifices that they offer continually each year. Otherwise, would not the sacrifices have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, once cleansed, would no longer have had any consciousness of sins? But in those sacrifices there is only a yearly remembrance of sins, for it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats take away sins.
For this reason, when [Jesus] came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; holocausts and sin offerings you took no delight in. Then I said, ‘As is written of me in the scroll, Behold, I come to do your will, O God.’” First he says, “Sacrifices and offerings, holocausts and sin offerings, you neither desired nor delighted in.” These are offered according to the law. Then he says, “Behold, I come to do your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second. By this “will,” we have been consecrated through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Every priest stands daily at his ministry, offering frequently those same sacrifices that can never take away sins. But this one offered one sacrifice for sins, and took his seat forever at the right hand of God; now he waits until his enemies are made his footstool. For by one offering he has made perfect forever those who are being consecrated.
The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying: “This is the covenant I will establish with them after those days, says the Lord: ‘I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them upon their minds,’” he also says: “Their sins and their evildoing I will remember no more.” Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer offering for sin.

My cold is going away slowly but I do cough now and then. I went for a walk yesterday afternoon as it was very mild and sunny. I enjoy walking and if I can, I go once a day.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words:
“Come to My cross and see the eternal sacrifice I offered for you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me. The sacrifices of the Old Testament could not really take away sins and the Father did not want these sacrifices of bulls and goats. However, My eternal sacrifice offered once and for all to the Father takes away all the sins committed by all the people of the world if they repent of their sins and believe in Me. Come to the cross and relive in your heart what I went through out of love for you. It is through My sacrifice on the cross that I established the New Covenant in My blood. A new era began when I died in great suffering for all of you. I am now in heaven sitting at the right hand of the Father and I have authority over all the people of the earth. I am the only Savior and all have to come to Me if they wish to be saved. Come and repent of your sins, and receive My forgiveness and be My disciple. I will lead you every day. I love you all.”
