Warning against Presumption

December 03, 2013

Dear Friends,

Warning against Presumption

A reading from the Letter of Saint James 4, 13 – 5, 6:

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we shall go into such and such a town, spend a year there doing business, and make a profit,”–you have no idea what your life will be like tomorrow. You are a puff of smoke that appears briefly and then disappears. Instead you should say, “If the Lord wills it, we shall live to do this or that.” But now you are boasting it, your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, it is a sin.
Come now, you rich, weep and wail over your impending miseries. Your wealth has rotted away, your clothes have become moth-eaten, your gold and silver have corroded, and that corrosion will be a testimony against you; it will devoir your flesh like a fire. You have stored up treasure for the last days. Behold, the wages you withheld from the workers who harvested your fields are crying aloud, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and pleasure; you have fathered your heirs for one day of slaughter. You have condemned, you have murdered the righteous one; he offers you no resistance.

Yesterday we had some rain and most of the snow is gone once more. It was about 5 degrees Celsius above the freezing point yesterday. We can still wait some days before we will have snow that will last.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Be ready at all times to follow Me My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are part of My family. Many plan different things for the future but it never happens because My plans are different for you. Whenever you plan something know that it might not be in accordance to what I want from you. Before you plan go and pray and ask Me to enlighten you. I am always there to help you.
There are many rich people who have no peace and they live a horrible life. Some at times loose their fortune and become very depressed. Some even commit suicide. Money is not the source of happiness for any person. Instead it can cause you much trouble. The one who can give you peace of mind and peace of heart is I your Savior. Come and follow Me and I will fill you with My great gifts of peace, love and joy. I will also give you the graces you need to do good. Come let us walk together and I will lead you along the true path that leads to heaven. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. May the Lord bless you all.

Causes of Division

December 02, 2013

Dear Friends,

Causes of Division

A reading from the Letter of Saint James 4, 1 – 12:

Where do the wars and where do the conflicts among you come from? Is it not from your passions that make war within your members? You covet but do not possess. You kill and envy but you cannot obtain; you fight and wage war. You do not possess because you do not ask. You ask but do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. Adulterers! Do you not know that to be a lover of the world means enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wants to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose that the scripture speaks without meaning when it says, “The spirit that he has made to dwell in us tends toward jealousy?” But he bestows a greater grace; therefore, it says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
So submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your heart, you of two minds. Begin to lament, to mourn, to weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into dejection. Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.
Do not speak evil of one another, brothers. Whoever speaks evil of a brother or judges his brother speaks evil of the law and judges the law. If you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save or to destroy. Who then are you to judge your neighbor?

Yesterday was the First of December and the First Sunday of Advent, the season to prepare ourselves for the great Feast of Christmas. Yesterday we had light snow but a lot of it melted as it was near the melting point.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to be humble and indeed you will be My friends. The proud are the ones who start conflicts with their neighbors. You envy those who have possessions which you do not have. You do not want anyone to be ahead of you. As a proud person you want to do only what you desire and especially to satisfy your passions. No, My brothers and sisters turn away from all that and come to Me with a heart of love. Repent of all your sins and resist the devil. When you are full of pride, this means that you are following the evil one. No, come to Me with a humble heart and leave the world behind and do what I want you to do. Know that I am the judge of every person in the world but if you forgive all those who have sinned against you, you will not be judged and I will bring you with Me to heaven one day. I died for you because I love you. Remain with Me every day and you will have peace. I care for you.”

Father Melvin

P.S. May the Lord bless you all.

True Wisdom

December 01, 2013

Dear Friends,

True Wisdom

A reading from the Letter of Saint James 3, 13 – 18:

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show his works by a good life in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. Wisdom of this kind does not come down from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every foul practice. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure; then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without inconstancy or insincerity. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those who cultivate peace.

It was mostly sunny yesterday Saturday here in Prince Edward Island. There was hardly any wind and it was not cold. I thank the Lord for the sun for it makes my day.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Accept My wisdom My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who are firm believers and members of My Church. There are two kinds of wisdom: there is the wisdom of the world and the wisdom that comes from God the Father.
The wisdom of the world is shown by people who are jealous and selfish. A person can be jealous at another because that person has more money than he has or owns more things that he does. So a jealous person wants to be first and above everyone. A person with the wisdom of the world will be filled with selfish ambition. This selfishness shows that this wisdom is earthy and really comes from the devil. That person only things of himself or herself and never about others.
However, the wisdom of God is shown by a person who is full of love for his or her neighbors. He or she has pure motives wanting to help the other. There is peace in his or her heart and that person will be gentle with others. This wisdom of God will be shown too by being full of mercy towards the other and he or she will always be sincere. One would be able to see the peace that lives in this person’s heart. Come My friends and be filled with the Wisdom of God. Ask Me to give you this great gift. I bless you all.”
