Advice to the Persecuted

December 13, 2013

Dear Friends,

Advice to the Persecuted

A reading from the First Letter of Saint Peter 4, 12 – 19:

Beloved, do not be surprised that a trial by fire is occurring among you, as if something strange were happening to you. But rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice exultantly. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let no one among you be made to suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as an intriguer. But whoever is made to suffer as a Christian should not be ashamed but glorify God because of the name. Fir it is time for the judgment to begin with the household of God; if it begins with us, how will it end for those who fail to obey the gospel of God?
“And if the righteous one is barely saved, where will the godless and the sinner appear?”
As a result, those who suffer in accord with God’s will hand their souls over to a faithful creator as they do good.

Yesterday Thursday December 12 was the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe whose shrine is in Mexico. I was very pleased to have gone to Her great shrine and to spend three days there.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“If you should suffer, then suffer together with Me My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who walk with Me every day. Many people these days suffer much because they are My followers. Many are attacked because they are against abortion. In some places even if you demonstrate in a very civil way and you pray, you can be arrested and thrown into prison. Look what happened in India only a few days ago. Even the Archbishop, the priests and many lay people have been thrown into prison for demonstrating in a very non-violent way. This is happening in many countries of the world. How many people are killed every year because they are Christians and just follow their Christian religion! If you should suffer then joined with Me who has suffered and been killed although I did not do anything wrong. You can be sure your place will be in heaven. Just fellow Me every day and I will give you the graces and strength you need every day. I bless you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. I prayed to Our Lady of Guadalupe for you all.

Christian Spouses and Christian Conduct

December 12, 2013

Dear Friends,

Christian Spouses and Christian Conduct

A reading from the First Letter of Saint Peter 3, 1 – 12:

Likewise, you wives should be subordinate to your husbands so that even if some disobey the word, they may be won over without a word by their wives’ conduct when they observe your reverent and chaste behavior. Your adornment should not be an external one; braiding the hair, wearing gold jewelry, or dressing in fine clothes, but rather the hidden character of the heart, expressed in the imperishable beauty of a gentle and calm disposition, which is previous in the sight of God. For this is also how the holy women who hoped in God once used to adorn themselves and were subordinate to their husbands; thus Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him “lord.” You are her children when you do what is good and fear no intimidation.
Likewise, you husbands should live with your wives in understanding, showing honor to the weaker female sex, since we are joint heirs of the gift of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
Finally, all of you, be of one mind, sympathetic, loving toward one another, compassionate, humble. Do not return evil for evil, or insult for insult; but, on the contrary, a blessing, because to this you were called, that you might inherit a blessing. For:
“Whoever would love life and see good days must keep the tongue from evil and the lips from speaking deceit, must turn from evil and do good, seek peace and follow after it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears turn to their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against evildoers.”

It was sunny almost the whole of Wednesday but it was windy and cold. I was in Summerside and I prayed that the wind would die down. It went down about 15 degrees when I came back. Thank you, Lord.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I blessed you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters and especially all married couples. It is terrible to see so many married couples that are separating almost every day. This shows that there is a terrible crisis among married couples. What is the problem? The number one problem is the one of love. All married couples are to love one another with all their heart. They must always try to please their partner. Remember that in every couple there is a third person. That person is Me. If you were married in Church, then I come to live with you. Never forget that I am present in your home. Ask Me for your help every day so I can bless you both and give you the strength to do good every day. What is important in marriage is to always forgive your partner. Every day forgive him or her and ask the Lord to help you both to do better the next day. If you want your marriage to work, you have to work at it and especially to pray together every day.
You are to love all your relatives and friends and also all your neighbors. Forgive anyone who has hurt you in any way and I will bless you. I want you all to be Christians from the heart. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. May the Lord give you all good health and great peace.

The Christian in a Hostile World

December 11, 2013

Dear Friends,

The Christian in a Hostile World

A reading from the First Letter of Saint Peter 2, 11 – 25:

Beloved, I urge you as aliens and sojourners to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against the soul. Maintain good conduct among the Gentiles, so that if they speak of you as evildoers, they may observe your good works and glorify God on the day of visitation.
Be subject to every human institution for the Lord’s sake, whether it be to the king as supreme or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the approval of those who do good. For it is the will of God that by doing good you may silence the ignorance of foolish people. Be free, yet without using freedom as a pretext for evil, but as slaves of God. Give honor to all, love the community, fear God, honor the king.
Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and equitable but also to those who are perverse. For whenever anyone bears the pain of unjust suffering because of consciousness of God, that is a grace. But what credit is there if you are patient when beaten for doing wrong? But if you are patient when you suffer for doing what is good this is a grace before God. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his footsteps. “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”
When he was insulted, he returned no insult; when he suffered, he did not threaten; instead, he handed himself over to the one who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you had gone astray like sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

I got up Tuesday morning and was surprised that the ground was all white covered in a blanket of snow. There was only about an inch of snow spread everywhere. The day was very nice and some snow melted.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Be imitators of Me My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters. I came into the world to do the will of My Heavenly Father and I was faithful to Him all the days of My life. I suffered much at the hands of the Roman Governor as he had Me scourged and My whole body was bleeding at the end. To make fun of Me, they place a crown of thorns on My head and they pressed it into My head so that much blood flowed out from all over My head. Yet I respected Pontus Pilate and also the Jewish leaders. So you too must respect your leaders those who govern your country. If however they should pass a law that is against what I taught, you are not to follow it. You must show to all My followers that those who follow those laws commit sin. As an example in many countries they allow abortion, euthanasia and same-sex marriage. Do not do these things because they are terribly sinful and no one can be saved if he or she follows these things.
Some of My followers suffer because they do good because the laws do not accept what they do. If you suffer for doing good, then you are blessed because you are identified with Me, your Savior. Offer yourselves to the Father every day to do what is good. You will be in heaven one day for following your Creator and Lord. I bless you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. Please continue to pray that the intentions of Our Blessed Mother will soon be fulfilled.
