Teaching about Fasting

Teaching about Fasting

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 6, 16 – 23:

When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites. They neglect their appearance, so that they may appear to others to be fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you may not appear to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.
The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light; but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be.

My birthday is getting near. In three days (March 2nd) I will be 75 years old. I thank all those who sent me a birthday card and others who have sent me a donation for my birthday. May the Lord bless you all and I am sure Our Blessed Mother is praying for you.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“You will remember My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters that at the beginning of My public life I spent forty days in the desert with nothing to eat and nothing to drink. There I gave you an example of fasting. The Church asks you all to fast especially during Lent, which is another forty days every year to unite with Me in the desert to repent of your sins by fasting, praying and almsgiving. Do not show of that you are fasting but hide it from the people. My Father sees everything and He will know what your are doing. Work hard to put your treasures in heaven. It is no good to work on earth just to make money and to put it away. No, put your spiritual treasures in heaven and you will be blessed.
You know that I am your light. So I call you to remain with Me and you will live in the light and I will fill you with My love.
Come My dear friends and follow Me every day. You will be rewarded in heaven with you get there one day. I fill you all with My grace.”

P.S. Please continue to pray for the sick. There are so many people sick these days. May the Lord bless you and all your family.

Teaching about Prayer

Teaching about Prayer

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 6, 5 – 15:

When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corner so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.
In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This is how you are to pray:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors, and do not subject us to the final test,
but deliver us from the evil one.
If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.

I ask you all to pray for my aunt who is an institution and she is arriving at 95 years of age. She has difficulty in breathing at times. She has not walked for many years. Thank you all for praying for her.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words, “I taught the Apostles and I am teaching you all My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who desire to pray every day. I taught the Apostles how to pray especially I gave them the prayer: the Our Father. This is a very beautiful prayer which every Christian should pray every day. Pray this prayer with all your heart showing through this prayer your great love for Our Heavenly Father.
I do not want you to act like pagans or the hypocrites who pray just to be seen and just to repeat over and over again the same words. No, the Father knows what you need so come to Him and show Him your faith and love and He will be very pleased indeed. You cannot be My followers if you do not pray every day.
I bless you all and I fill you all with My graces.”

Teaching about Almsgiving

Teaching about Almsgiving

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 6, 1 – 4:

“Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them, otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father. When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.”

I wish to thank all those who sent me donations during the last few weeks. This has been a great help indeed. May the Lord bless you all and may He repay you one hundred percent more.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words, “I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who love to give alms to the elderly and the poor. This is the beautiful way to show your love for those who are suffering. There are more and more people today who have nothing to eat and who do not have a place to sleep. It is you who are their brothers and sisters who must take care of them. If they die from starvation or if they freeze to death, you will have to pay for that. Always be ready to help these poor people.

When I was living in Israel and I traveled all over the country with the Apostles, often we had nothing to eat and at times we had to sleep outside under a tree. However, there were some who came to help us by giving us food to eat and a place to sleep. These people I thanked with all My heart. Remember when you help a poor person, you are helping Me. I identify with every poor person who suffers. So if you love Me, you will help all the poor that you find. I bless you all.”
