The Authority of Jesus Questioned

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 21, 23 – 27:

When Jesus had come into the temple area, the chief priests and the elders of the people approached him as he was teaching and said, “By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?” Jesus said to them in reply, “I shall ask you one question, and if you answer it for me, then I shall tell you by what authority I do these things. Where was John’s baptism from? Was it of heavenly or of human origin?” They discussed this among themselves and said, “If we say ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’ But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ we fear the crowd, for they all regard John as a prophet.” So they said to Jesus in reply, “We do not know.” He himself said to them, “Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

On Tuesday evening, May 13th, we will have the burial of My Aunt, Josephine, and my brother-in-law Leo Bernard at the cemetery of the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road. They died during the winter and there are no burials during that season. The bodies were kept in a special building near the cemetery. Now that the snow is gone and the ground is no longer frozen, the burials can take place.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“I know that you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me that I taught and did miracles by the power of God. I am the Son of God and I have all power to do all I wish to do. However, the Jewish chief priests and the elders questioned Me by asking by what authority I did the things I did. They also wanted to know the name of the one who gave Me this authority. I knew that they would not believe Me and to show you how doubtful they were, I asked them this question, ‘Where was John’s baptism from? Was it of heavenly or of human origin?’ The Jewish leaders refused to answer this question because they did not believe in John the Baptist but if they said of human origin, the people could turn against them because they truly believed in John the Baptist. Because they refused to answer My question, I refused to tell them where My authority came from.
You know, My friends, that I was sent to earth by My Heavenly Father and I had My divine power to do all I wanted to do. Look at what happened at My birth in Bethlehem: a huge star came just above the place I was born and the angels came and sang for Me. At My baptism My Heavenly Father spoke and the Holy Spirit came upon Me with great power to lead Me into the desert. At My transfiguration on the mountain, My divinity was shown to the three Apostles who were on the mountain with Me. Abraham and Elijah appeared together with Me in the air and My Heavenly Father spoke of Me. The greatest act I performed for your benefit was My Resurrection from the dead after I had died on the cross and was buried for three days. My Resurrection is the culmination point for you to show that I am the Son of God and the Savior of all of you. I appeared to the Apostles after My Resurrection for forty days in order to strengthen their faith and to be prepared to receive the Holy Spirit and to begin My Church. I also brought about many miracles when I was on earth and these came about through My divine power. Come My brothers and sisters and believe that I am truly the Son of God, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. Be with Me every day while you are on earth, and I will help you to achieve your heavenly destiny with Me. I bless you and I love you.”

Father Melvin

P.S. May the Lord bless you all and may He give you all the graces you need every day. May He fill you with His love, peace and joy.

The Cursing of the Fig Tree

The Cursing of the Fig Tree

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 21, 18 – 22:

When Jesus was going back to the city in the morning, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by he road, he went over to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again.” And immediately the fig tree withered. When the disciples saw this, they were amazed and said, “How was it that the fig tree withered immediately?” Jesus said to them in reply, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not waver, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to the mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done. Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.”

It is slowly getting warmer every day. Today it reached 14 degrees Celsius and in a few days it will reach 16 degrees. We know feel that we are in the time of Spring and the grass is turning green and the flowers are being to grow. The trees are budding and soon the leaves will be out. I love this season.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord, the Son of God, given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,
“Do you have great faith My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who live in every part of the world? You need to have great faith and you will be able to do great things. You read what I did to the fig tree when I went to it hoping to find some figs to eat but I did not find any. I told the tree that it will not produce any more fruit, it immediately withered and died. This is the power of faith that was at work. You could do the same if you have strong faith.
Pray My dear friends that your faith becomes strong like I have shown you. With strong faith you can overcome all problems especially problems of fatigue, depression, pain and sorrow. With great faith, My power will come upon you and change you completely and fill you with peace, love and joy. Even if you have to suffer, I will give you the strength to suffer in peace and never to forget that I suffered terribly for your salvation. Suffering brings about great conversions and great miracles in the world, if you suffer with Me. Remain close to Me at all times and offer Me all your suffering. I will use it to help many who are in need of conversion and healing. I love you and I bless you.”

Father Melvin

P.S. I wish you all a beautiful Sunday, the 4th Sunday of Easter, and may the Lord bless you at church during Holy Mass. May He strengthen your faith so that you can offer yourselves completely to Him to do His will. I am praying for you every day.

The Cleansing of the Temple

The Cleansing of the Temple

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 21, 12 – 17:

Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those engaged in selling and buying there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves. And he said to them, “It is written: ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you are making it a den of thieves.”
The blind and the lame approached him in the temple area, and he cured them. When the chief priests and the scribes saw the wondrous things he was doing, and the children crying out in the temple area, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” They were indignant and said to him, “Do you hear what they are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes; and have you never read the text, ‘Out of the mouths of infants and nurslings you have brought forth praise?’ And leaving them, he went out of the city to Bethany, and there he spent the night.

We had another beautiful sunny day on Friday and the temperature went as high as 14 degrees in the afternoon. The farmers have started working in the fields getting ready to plant potatoes. I am very happy to see these beautiful days.

Below you will find the message of Our Blessed Mother given to Father Melvin. She spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My son Melvin and all My sons and daughters who love to go to Church and pray. I bless all those who go to Holy Mass every day or at least every Sunday. Jesus is present at every Mass as He is in heaven. If you are prepared you can receive Him in Holy Communion. He will bless you and give you all the graces and gifts that you need.
When Jesus was on earth He went often to the Temple in Jerusalem. Once He went there and He found people selling and buying in the Temple area. He showed anger by overturning the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves. He told them that My house shall be a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of thieves.
Today as in the past, you have to show respect to the house of the Lord. The Church is not the place to sit down and talk and to laugh and tell jokes. The Church is the place where Jesus lives and you are to come in the Church to pray and to show your love to your Savior. When at Holy Mass, be conscious that you are taking part in the greatest prayer this world has ever had. Be concentrated on the actions of the priest and be ready to answer the prayers that the priest says during the whole Mass. I am present with you at Holy Mass and I offer My love for My Son Jesus during the whole time. You know that I was present at the foot of the cross of My Son and Holy Mass is the participation in the sacrifice of My Son on the cross. Be united to My Son at Church and ask Him for your needs. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. It is my joy to celebrate Holy Mass every day in the Chapel of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. I always feel great peace as I offer Holy Mass to the Father and I know Jesus is present on the altar and the Holy Spirit is present too. What a great gift the Lord Jesus gave us to participate in His Sacrifice and to receive Him in Holy Communion. There is no greater gift on earth than the gift of the Holy Eucharist. Thank you Lord for it is Jesus Himself.
