Preparations for the Passover

Preparations for the Passover

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 26, 17 – 20:

On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples approached Jesus and said, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?” He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The teacher says, “My appointed time draws near; in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with my disciples.”‘ The disciples then did as Jesus had ordered, and prepared the Passover.

Yesterday Saturday was Our Blessed Mother’s Feast of the Visitation to Her cousin Elizabeth. So yesterday at 2:00 p.m. I was called to the chapel of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island and as I knelt down before the altar, Our Blessed Mother was there and she spoke to me for over 15 minutes. The message will be in the next newsletter which will come out in June.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I love you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who love to go to Holy Mass and to receive Me in Holy Communion. In this way I come to live in your heart and so our relationship grows every day. In the Biblical passage used today I sent My Apostles to prepare a room where we could celebrate the Passover. This day is celebrated now as Holy Thursday. The Apostles went and prepare the place so that we could all sit at table and have the Last Supper together and I was able to institute the Holy Eucharist. This was My way of remaining with you after My Ascension into heaven. Where the consecrated host is and where the consecrated wine is, there I am totally present under the species of bread and wine. If you believe in My real presence in the Eucharist then you truly are My disciples and My friends.
My brothers and sisters, if you believe in the Eucharist you would love to go to Holy Mass every Sunday and during the week if it is possible and to partake of the Eucharist. This is the greatest prayer in this world. When you are at Mass, it is the same as if you were standing at the foot of My cross as I offered My life in sacrifice for your redemption. I bless you all and I love you.”

Father Melvin

P.S. Today is the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. After forty days after His resurrection from the dead, He left the Apostles and returned to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. He had accomplished His great work to redeem us. He is always ready to help us with all the graces and help that He gives every day. He had to go to heaven so that the Holy Spirit could come down and it was ten days after His Ascension that the Holy Spirit came and next Sunday we will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost which is the day that the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles. Open your hearts to receive the Holy Spirit once more.

The Betrayal of Judas

The Betrayal of Judas

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 26, 14 – 16:

Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over.

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Visitation of Our Blessed Mother to her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth was pregnant with John the Baptist and of course Our Blessed Mother was carrying the Child Jesus. The two unborn children influenced one another. When the baby John the Baptist received a special grace from the Baby Jesus, John leaped with joy in the womb of his mother, and she was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to prophesize saying, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.” Then Our Blessed Mother gave Her beautiful canticle, which we should read every day.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I love you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who pray and follow Me every day. However, can you imagine that this man Judas was with Me for three years. He heard all that I thought the people and all that I taught the Apostles too. He saw the many miracles I performed from healing sick people, chasing evil spirits and even bringing back the dead to life. He should have known that only God can do such things. He also saw the miracle I brought about by calming the storm on the sea. He saw Me walking on the water and it was windy. He saw that I multiplied bread and fish to give to thousands of people who had not eaten for days as they were in the desert. He had heard My prediction of My Passion and Death on the cross. Yet after all that, He turned against Me and betrayed Me to the Jewish leaders. He knew that they wanted to arrest Me and to kill Me and he sold Me to them for thirty pieces of silver. What poor faith this Judas had.
I call you all to follow the other Apostles but not Judas. He did a very evil thing which ruined him as after I was arrested he went to the woods and hanged himself. I call you all to follow Me and if you do then your future will be remarkable for one day you will be with Me in heaven. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. I went fishing trout today (Friday) with My sister and another one. We caught a good number of trout and we had a wonderful supper. The weather was very nice with sun all day and the temperature was 20 degrees. I thank the Lord for the nice day.

The Anointing at Bethany

The Anointing at Bethany

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 26, 6 – 13:

Now when Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper a woman came up to him with an alabaster jar of costly perfumed oil, and poured it on his head while he was reclining at table. When the disciples saw this, they were indignant and said, “Why this waste? It could have been sold for much, and the money given to the poor.” Since Jesus knew this, he said to them, “Why do you make trouble for the woman? She has done a good thing for me. The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me. In pouring this perfumed oil upon my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. Amen, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be spoken of, in memory of her.”

Today Thursday is the actual day of the Ascension. It was celebrated today in many countries and especially at the Vatican. In other countries this feast will be celebrated on Sunday. Why did they change the date? The reason is that if the feast is celebrated on Thursday only a small group of people will be present because many are working on that day. If it is on Sunday then all those who go to church will be present for the feast. So that is why it was changed to Sunday.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I call you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters to follow in the Bible the course of the events as they lead to My death on the cross and My burial.
Mary Magdalene is the one who came to anoint My head when I was in Bethany. She poured this rich oil on My head as she was led by the Spirit. This is a Jewish custom that the dead have to be anointed with oil once they have died and before they are buried. Although some of the Apostles, especially Judas Iscariot, objected to what this woman did, I told the Apostles that it was a good thing that she did. Indeed everywhere were this story is told, this woman will be honored for the great act she did.
This story is to remind you that My death is near. In fact in two days I will be hanging on the cross, having been killed although I did nothing wrong. However, I accepted to die for each one of you to pay the price for your sins. I love you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. I thank the Lord for the beautiful sunny day we had on Thursday. There was no wind and the temperature was much warmer than the day before. May the Lord bless you all.
