Philip and the Ethiopian

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 8, 26 – 40:

Then the angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, “Get up and head south on the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza, the desert route.” So he got up and set out. Now there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of the Candace, that is, the queen of the Ethiopians, in charge of her entire treasury, who had come to Jerusalem to worship, and was returning home. Seated in his chariot, he was reading the prophet Isaiah. The Spirit said to Philip, “Go and join up with that chariot.” Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” He replied, “How can I, unless someone instructs me?” So he invited Philip to get in and sit with him. This was the scripture passage he was reading:
“Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he opened not his mouth. In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who will tell of his posterity? For his life is taken from the earth.”
Then the eunuch said to Philip in reply, “I beg you, about whom is the prophet saying this? About himself, or about someone else?” Then Philip opened his mouth and, beginning with this scripture passage, he proclaimed Jesus to him. As they traveled along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look there is water. What is to prevent my being baptized?” Then he ordered the chariot to stop, and Philip and the eunuch both went down into the water, and he baptized him. When they came out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, but continued on his way rejoicing. Philip came to Azotus, and went about proclaiming the good news to all the towns until he reached Caesarea.

I had a healing Mass at the Chapel of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island and there was a woman there who walked with a cane. During the Healing Service she came up and I prayed asking the Lord Jesus to heal her so she could walk without any trouble. At the end of the service this lady came to me and offered me her cane saying, “I am healed so I do not need this cane anymore. You can keep it.” Yes, she was completely healed and never needed her cane anymore.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Oh, I wish that you all would listen to the Holy Spirit and do what He ask of you especially you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me as your Savior. In the above reading you see that the Apostle Philip is very attentive to the Holy Spirit and he does exactly what the Spirit tells him. One day the Holy Spirit told Philip to get up and to follow along the road to Gaza. Immediately he got up and went and after a time he saw a chariot going along the road. The Holy Spirit told him to go up to the chariot. The Ethiopian who was in the chariot was reading a passage from the Prophet Isaiah and the man did not understand what the passage was about. He invited Philip to sit in the chariot with him and to explain what the passage meant. Philip inspired by the Holy Spirit told him all about Me who came into the world to save the human race. He explain to this Ethiopian all that I had suffered and also about My resurrection. At the end the Ethiopian wanted to be baptized and so they stop at some water and Philip baptized him and he became a Christian.
You see what happens when you listen to the Holy Spirit. Philip by following the Spirit was instrumental that this man was converted and was baptized. Be always ready to help any one in need and to teach them about Me. I bless you all.”

Simon the Magician

Simon the Magician

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 8, 9 – 25:

A man named Simon used to practice magic in the city and astounded the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great. All of them, from the least to the greatest, paid attention to him, saying, “This man is the ‘Power of God’ that is called ‘Great.'”
They paid attention to him because he had astounded them by his magic for a long time, but once they began to believe Philip as he preached the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, men and women alike were baptized. Even Simon himself believed and, after being baptized, became devoted to Philip; and when he saw the signs and mighty deeds that were occurring, he was astounded.
Now when the Apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who went down and prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit, for it had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.
When Simon saw that the Spirit was conferred by the laying on of the Apostles’ hands, he offered them money and said, “Give me this power too, so that anyone upon whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit. But Peter said to him, “May your money perish with you, because you thought that you could buy the gift of God with money. You have no share or lot in this matter, for your heart is not upright before God. Repent of this wickedness of yours and pray to the Lord that, if possible, your intention may be forgiven. For I see that you are filled with bitter gall and are in the bonds of iniquity.” Simon said in reply, “Pray for me to the Lord, that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.” So when they had testified and proclaimed the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem and preached the good news in many Samaritan villages.

I will have a healing service at Our Lady of Prince Edward Island’s chapel on August 1st and the service will begin at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome and I will pray on every person present.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Follow the Apostles My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who have accepted Me as your Redeemer and you do all that I have asked you.
The Apostle Philip had been sent to Samaria to teach the Good News to the people of this area. He worked hard and many people were baptized even a magician called Simon. He believe in Philip and he was astounded by the signs and the mighty deeds that he accomplished in My Name. Then the Apostles Peter and John were sent to Samaria so that those baptized might receive the Holy Spirit. They came and laid hands on the people and they all received the Holy Spirit. Simon the Magician went to Saint Peter and offered him money and asked him to give him the power to lay hands on people so they may receive the Holy Spirit. Saint Peter was angry at him and told him these words, “May your money perish with you, because you thought that you could buy the gift of God with money.”Saint Peter told him to repent of what he did. He asked Saint Peter to pray for him to the Lord, that nothing of what he had said may come upon him. Then the Apostles left for Jerusalem.
As you see it is very important to receive the Holy Spirit. Today it is the Bishop who gives the Holy Spirit and it is a sacrament called the Sacrament of Confirmation. All those who are baptized must receive this great sacrament and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Then you will receive the strength to follow Me and to work for Me. I bless you all.”

Philip in Samaria

Philip in Samaria

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 8, 4 – 8:

Now those who had been scattered went about preaching the word. Thus Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them. With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip when they heard it and saw the signs he was doing. For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice, came out of many possessed people, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured. There was great joy in that city.

When I was in Africa one day I was in a village where there was a Catholic Church. I was at that church for the weekend for confessions and Masses and to visit the sick. On Saturday morning some came to me and asked me if I would liberate the many in this place who were possessed. I told them that I would do that and they should come this afternoon at three o’clock. So at that hour there were 90 people in the church. I went there to speak to them and they told me that they were all possessed. So I took six people with me and asked them to pray the rosary while I prayed with these people. When I began to pray to chase away the evil spirits, the people began to shout and fall down on the floor. Within ten minutes, they were all on the floor and everyone was shouting. I prayed for nearly half an hour and when I said at the end this prayer: “In the name of Jesus I chase you all you evil spirits and go to where you belong.” Then the people stop shouting and soon they began to get up. They were all freed that day. The people had never seen this and they were full of joy.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“Be followers of Philip My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me with all your heart. Philip went to Samaria and taught the people there the Good News and many were converted and were baptized. He performed many great miracles by chasing away evil spirits and healing the many sick that were there. Philip was indeed one who followed very well what I told the Apostles.
I call all of you to never be afraid to talk about Me to all those you meet. Tell them that you are praying for them that they may have a strong and lively relationship with Me. I am your Lord and Savior and I am the only one who can save you. I will help you in this life every day and at the end I will take you with Me in heaven. Be My friends and pray every day and go to Holy Mass at least every Sunday. I bless you all.”

Father Melvin

P.S. What a beautiful day we had on Saturday! There was not a cloud in the sky and there was a little wind so it was not too hot. I thank the Lord for this beautiful day.
