Christian Examples and Christian Citizens

A reading from the First Letter of Saint Peter 2, 11 – 17:

Beloved, I urge you as aliens and sojourners to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against the soul. Maintain good conduct among the Gentiles, so that if they speak as evildoers, they may observe your good works and glorify God on the day of visitation.
Be subject to every human institution for the Lord’s sake, whether it be to the king as supreme or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the approval of those who do good. For it is the will of God that by doing good you may silence the ignorance of foolish people. Be free, yet without using freedom as a pretext for evil, but as slaves of God. Give honor to all, love the community, fear God, honor the king.

We had a partly sunny day today Monday but it was windy in the morning but the wind died down in the afternoon. Yesterday I went to Charlottetown and joined a Pro-life group and stood along Highway 2 with our placards showing the people that it is not right to kill innocent unborn children. We have to respect life from the moment of conception until natural death. A large number of people joined us on the road and many of the cars passing by hooted the horn to agree with us. There were some though who were against us and they shouted at us. We hope to have another demonstration in Summerside where they are building an abortion clinic and I hope it will be soon.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who live as Christians every day. In his letter, St. Peter urges you to keep away from worldly desires that destroys your souls. You have to maintain good conduct among the people so that even if they do not believe in you but when they see your good works they will glorify Me, your Redeemer.
You have to respect the leaders of your country. If you do good, then you will silence the ignorant people. Never use freedom as a pretext for evil. No one is free to commit sin and if you do, then you offend your Heavenly Father who created you. I call you My dear friends to give honor to all people and you are called to love every person in your community. You are to fear God and to give honor to the king or President of your country. Follow these messages and you will be blessed by Me and I will live in your heart every day. I bless you all.”
